My inspiration for this piece was Viva La Vida by Coldplay I tried to capture what I feel when I listen to this song which I found so hard to do than any other song I’ve drawn out. There’s just something so inspirational about this song that I find hard to capture in color; but I hope I was able to convey the joy or beauty of life somehow. Listen to the song if you haven’t! It’s awesome! / Here’s my favorite part of the lyrics: One minute I held the key / Next the walls were closed on me / And I discovered that my castles stand / Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing / Roman Cavalry choirs are singing / Be my mirror my sword and shield / My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can’t explain / Once you go, there was never, never an honest word / That was when I ruled the world It was the wicked and wild wind / Blew down the doors to let me in / Shattered windows and the sound of drums / People couldn’t believe what I’d become…... Something girly and cute. My grandmother suggested I try doing some softer girl designs, but I couldn’t think of anything so I went through some of my art to see if I had anything. I didn’t have very much! But I found this recent work I did and decided she might be cute enough for something. :) Her name is Vida, and she is part of a “Life and Death” story I’ve been tinkering with.
