  • This was taken between Mt.Hotham and Dinner Plain, at JB Plain in the Victorian Alps. It shows one situation where shooting in the middle of the day was the best time as the broad snow gum canopy cast a nice consistently patterned shadow across the fresh snow. / ~ / Browse Images by Category : Snow Landscape Nature

  • A black and white with vignetting version of my image of Port Fairy Lighthouse. This is one of my all time favourite photographs so I thought I would share it. It was taken on a point and shoot about 3 years ago so is not available for larger prints. The flowers in the foreground of this photo have a story of their own. The bulbs of the irises were planted by the first lighthouse keepers in the garden of the long since ruined keepers house. All that remains of the house is a portion of the garden. The iris bulbs come up every spring as a reminder of what once was. Colour version is also available. This is how it looks in card form: I have this image on my wall using a black matte and charcoal frame which looks absolutely amazing and sets off the black and white image well.

  • Yes… I did get too close and got wet!.. Ohh the perils of photography! / I Have to date sold 3 x mounted prints of this image.

  • This shot recieved a runner up award in the Black and White division of the ANZANG Nature and Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2006. The day before the shot was taken we had hiked 25 sandy km along the Howe Wilderness Zone coastline near the NSW / Victorian border. After a lengthy struggle through the dunes and undergrowth to get to Lake Wau Wauka we filled up with water and retraced our steps to camp on the edge of the dune field. The next morning I got up an hour before sunrise and witnessed the white dunes absorb all the predawn colours before a spectacular ocean sunrise had me chewing through my film in awe. I wandered around the huge dune fields taking advantage of the morning light that emphasised the ripples in the sand. The truly special element was the effect some rain had had on the dunes from a few days earlier. The sand in some areas had not dried out completely and as the wind had blown the lighter dry sand away amazing patterns had been left in the remaining wet sand. • An old boat sitting safely on the shore at Queenscliff in Victoria, Australia. Kept finding myself going back to this boat to take photos, looked so sad sitting by itself. Black and White conversion in Lightroom, HDR in Photomatix.

  • I have always loved Sea urchins and have always collected them from when i was a child right up into adulthood. They would be the first thing I would look for when I got out of my car and my feet hit the sand on the beach. Suprisingly there arent that many to be found anymore on the beach where I have always gone to find them. sony ax 300 SLR 70 – 200ml lense.

  • I was having my coffee this morning on the balcony while watching the rain and it gave me an idea so here it is! This was taken of the rain coming down on the balcony balustrade with the clouds in the background. I know that there are lots of amazing captures of splashes here on RB but this image really wasn’t about the splash, to me, it was more about the capture of morning rain. Best viewed large :o) Nikon D200 / 18-200mm lens, 5.6f / exposure 1/320 / processed in RAW

  • Geelong Waterfront – 120 seconds @ f16 After a few colour landscapes i like to dabble in black and white. I hope you don’t mind.

  • Under the pier at Cowes, Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia at Dawn. Taken at the same time as Beginning of a new day for something a little bit different. It was pretty chilly, windy and way too early in the morning for me, it’s amazing how much lens distortion you get with a wide angle lens! / Settings Canon 40D, 10-22mm EF-S. • Canon 400D Camera + Sigma 10-20 Lens / 80 second exposure @ f8 On the southern tip of Australia you can find this prehistoric anamoly. It is one of only 3 places in the world that does not have any colour. It’s not an easy place to find, but i knew i was getting closer when i noticed that the blue from the sky was turning white, very strange. I was speaking to a local and he told me that they only get colour 3 months of the year, incredible!

  • A wave crashes the London Arch, on the Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia, at sunrise. This was taken at the end of autumn on a very cloudy morning. I used a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera, 18-55mm lens and a tripod. I sold a large framed print (walnut and on red bubble) to my kind sister, Nadia, that she bought as a house warming and birthday present for a lucky friend. Thanks so much Nadia.
