John Simon Ritchie, better known as Sid Vicious, was an English punk rock musician, the bass player of the Sex Pistols and solo singer. Punk rock is an anti-establishment rock music genre and movement that emerged in the mid-1970s. Groups such as the Ramones, Sex Pistols, and The Clash were recognized as the vanguard of a new musical movement. By 1977, punk was spreading around the world.

Lou Reed in concert Sydney Australia, from my “Dead ‘N’ Alive” exhibition set. / One of a series of photographs I took in my early days of photography. / All shot on film using a Nikormat FTN. A wonderful hard working film camera. / In those days there was little or no security and no “Crash Barriers”, so I would make my way to the front of the stage and shoot. / Scanned from the original negatives or transparencies. This was Lou’s first trip to Australia and in many ways no-one knew what to expect. “Transformer” was a recent hit and from memory “Berlin” had just come out.
