“Seeing is different than being told.” / Proverb from Kenya / —-—— As I researched Kenya, where this girl is from, I was struck by the fact that Kenya… is a butterfly rich country. And so it made sense to adorn this young one with the intense, piercing gaze… with the brilliance of butterflies. ~ Inspired by the book Bitterroot Landing ~ Voices have always spoken to Jael in her mind, and some of what they have told her to do has been frightening. But the voices she hears now speak of comfort and courage. ~ An inspiring story of astounding survival….. ( my 8 year old daughter)

Inspired By The Perfect Place Of Escape: To symbolise perfection, medieval stonemasons carved strawberry designs on altars and around pillars in churches and cathedrals. “Sweet Escapism” was created as a visual place of escape, a scene where the viewer can briefly be transported to a heavenly level of perfect existence. Poetry inspired by “Sweet Escapism” A bliss of overwhelming freedom / Pin pricks the seeds of my skin / As the succulence of released pressures oozes / Ripening the transparent complexities of reflection Passing the mirage of a daydream like state / I float with a breeze of ripeness / Escaping the red shot pain / Of the ever-growing The extravagance of nothingness / Is unreplaceable / A place, a wand / A something, a nothing, who knows But the emptiness of freedom / Is yet a place of lost, or even found / Is the perfect place of breath, an existence / That can only exist in the imagination of one’s escapism A prism of light that channels through / The silences of one’s nothingness / But can something so beautiful ever exist / Through the ever determined crisp freshness of hue That at times clogs our visions / Yet occasionally allows us the barrier of disappearance / Somewhere, a peace, a beam of vibrance / That has no ending [Poetry by Kayleigh Warbuton] [Leading Soundtrack During Creation: Mastodon – Blood Mountain]

Sunset shortly after taking off from Fayetteville Arkansas. The colors may seem oversaturated, but that’s pretty much what it really looked like. All I did was a minor level adjustment to darken the engine and clouds. I also selectively added a small amount of contrast to the clouds by themselves.
This is the second batik butterfly in my collection. I’d like to dedicate this image to Marianne Venegoni, a gifted photographer, who has been very ill and is trying to find her “wings” again. Marianne, may you scale even greater heights than before your illness! You can see Marianne’s impressive portfolio at photoeyes here on Redbubble.

One thing I must remind myself is the fact that not every one has seen things like this.. an orange orchard.. although in Florida, these are called an “orange grove”. same thing.. we just call them groves.. I see these every day.. but!.. in winter we see them full of fruit.. a sure sign of good juice!.. and pretty colorful fruit in my breakfast bowl.. before this harvest, is the blossoming of the orange flowers. and you smell them for miles. it is intoxicating. My husband was the one who said.. share that with the red bubble. ! I think they would like it :).. so here it is, a little touched by my mouse fingers. . Alva , Florida
