Here is the sketch of the death adder, the 5th most venomous snake in the world and it was on my sketch pad as I drew it. Not one of my best sketches because I kept watching what the snake was doing, still I felt that one sketch was enough.
The largest cottonmouths (or water mocassins) I have ever seen (and I’ve seen alot of them) come from the Fakahatchee Strand on the West side of the Everglades. This guy had to be easily 4 feet long. These snakes seem to retain their color really well throughout the Everglades, unlike their Northern relatives who turn mostly black. The Fakahatchee cottonmouths kept sort of a copper coloration and their bands can be clearly seen, even as adults.

Portuguese man o’war or better known in Australia as the blue bottle jellyfish. Acrylic painting on wood. 91cm x 24cm
I met this guy on a nature trail in North Florida. He was very obliging in letting me get on the ground less than a foot away from him to take this photograph. Just look at those beautiful golden eyes!
We are forever.
Another one from my sister’s backyard. I’m not sure what she was doing, it looks as if her web had been disturbed by a fallen twig. She certainly wasn’t happy!
This image highlights the energy which Venom expends during a concert.
