Wasn’t sure weather to upload this or not but what they hey. I think Redbubble needs some comic book nerdery to break up all the photos of sunsets at the moment. 2007 is set to be Venom’s year. If you don’t know who he is, you will after seeing Spiderman3. Marvel is cashing in it upping his profile and putting Spidey back in his black costume as well.

From the PX3 awarded series – ORDER:SQUAMATA / / Rough Scaled Python (Morelia carinata) is possibly the rarest snake in Australia. Only discovered in 1976, this is the only python species to have keeled or ‘rough’ scales, hence its common name. Endemic to northern Western Australia. / / ©2008 Shannon Plummer. Meerkat pup…... Meerkats are primarily insectivores, but also eat lizards, snakes, scorpions, spiders, plants, eggs, small mammals, millipedes, centipedes and, more rarely, small birds. They are partially immune to certain venoms; they are immune to the very strong venom of the scorpions of the Kalahari, unlike humans. They have no excess body fat stores, so foraging for food is a daily need. Meerkats forage in a group with one “sentry” on guard watching for predators while the others search for food. Sentry duty is usually approximately an hour long. Baby meerkats do not start foraging for food until they are about 1 month old, and do so by following an older member of the group who acts as the pup’s tutor. The meerkat standing guard makes peeping sounds when all is well. If the meerkat spots danger, it barks loudly or whistles.
Fancied a little bit of fantasy and lots of practice painting hair.
The Mulga Snake Pseudechis australis (also commonly known as the King Brown) is not a brown snake at all, but a member of the Black Snake family. This species is venomous and should not be approached. As you can see in this image, he was starting to get a bit cranky about our presence seen by his ‘flattening’. It is one of the most common elapid species of western NSW. This one was found north of Wilcannia. The predatory Red Lionfish is one of a number of similar species widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific. The spines are venomous. Lionfish have recently been released in Florida and the species is now showing up in the Eastern Atlantic and Caribbean.
For those that dont like venomous snakes, this ones for you! This Eastern Brown Snake Pseudonaja textilis was captured using a 10mm macro setting. This species is the second most venomous land snake in the world behind the Inland Taipain, also an Australian species. This animal is not full grown yet, showing typical juvenile head patterns. It was photographed while doing biodiversity surveys near Goulburn, NSW, AU. Pythons, are a family of non-venomous snakes found in Africa, Asia and Australia. Among its members are some of the largest snakes in the world. Eight genera and 26 species are currently recognized. Found in subsaharan Africa, peninsular India, Myanmar, southern China, Southeast Asia and from the Philippines southeast through Indonesia to New Guinea and Australia. In the United States an introduced population of Burmese pythons, Python molurus bivittatus, has existed as an invasive species in the Everglades National Park since the late 1990s. Many species have been hunted aggressively, which has decimated some, such as the Indian python, Most members of this family are ambush predators, in that they typically remain motionless in a camouflaged position and then strike suddenly at passing prey. They will generally not attack humans unless startled or provoked, although females protecting their eggs can be aggressive. Large adult specimens can kill people. Unsuspecting children can and have been preyed upon and swallowed whole after being suffocated. Reports of attacks on human beings were once more common in South and Southeast Asia, but are now quite rare. As is capture …. “Python …...” was featured in Extreme Close-Ups
Western green mamba (Dendroaspis viridis). West Africa. / Closely related to the Eastern green mamba and the Black mamba. Although it has a similar, dangerously neurotoxic venom as the black mamba, it is not as potent and injects smaller quantities. It is also not as nervous as its cousin. Found mainly in trees but does sometimes venture to the ground to bask or chase its prey.
