I took this as we were about to got out for the day while on holiday. / The bottles and glass were on a worktop in our caravan, and the sun was shining through the window blinds onto the bottles. / I just had to capture it. Canon 50d, iso 800, no flsah, 10-22, handheld. What a fantastico little find this was. i tried flash but he gave me an angry Venetian stare, so i had to bump the iso upto 800, and have a very small f number. I spent ages zooming in and exploring all the little details in this scene, all with there own litlle story. Im going to rework this when i get back home

Ponte della Croce on La Giudecca, one of the major Islands of Venice, Italy. Masks are an essential feature of iL Carnevale di Venezia. Venice’s Carnival began in the 11th century, and the wearing of masks and costumes was well established by 1436, when mask makers or Mascereri were officially recognised with their own guild. The practise of wearing masks for disguise reached its peak in the 18th century when Venetians of different social classes used Carnevale as an excuse to mingle and, in some case, to make sexual favours without fear of recognition or retribution. This is one of my favourite poses from a shoot I did for a mask company promotion. It is a classic three light set up…If you look at the shadows on the floor you can tell that the light on the right is a softbox set at f8… on the left a silver umbella set at f5.6 and behind a honeycomb 20 degree set at f11. Camera was set at f8
