  • Two little boys standing under some amazing clouds on Sandymouth Beach in Cornwall, UK on a stunning day with the most awesome light and reflections.

  • Crossing the Nullarbor by train was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Nullabor comes for the Latin for “without trees” … and this I can attest to. There is not much to see during the 42 hour train ride from Perth to Adelaide except sublime beauty in the vast, barren space blurring past the window.

Redoubt is a stratovolcano which rises to 10,197 feet above sea level. Recent eruptions occurred in 1902, 1966-68, 1989-90, and 2009. The 1989-90 and 2009 eruptions produced mudflows, or lahars, that traveled down the Drift River and partially flooded the Drift River Oil Terminal facility. The ash plumes produced by the 1989-90 and 2009 eruptions significantly disrupted air traffic and resulted in minor or trace amounts of ash in the city of Anchorage and other communities in south-central and interior Alaska. • What appeared as plumes of steam could be seen on this very active volcano. On further investigation our suspicions were confirmed. We had witnessed the breath of a mountain.
