Something besides portraiture for a change! This piece won the College Foundation Purchase Award in the student art show I entered last April. It was my first ever entry into an art show, and I was shocked and elated that I actually won something. Needless to say, I am very proud of this image. © Cadence Gamache This piece was nominated into the Pay It Forward group by the wonderful Melanie Dooley. Title: Grandma’s Vase Photographer: Robin Collins, FourCrowsArt Whispers of color, softly focused, dreams on your walls. This is what I was trying to achieve with this series. It takes a bit of manipulation and process, but the outcome is beautiful. Using the technique “through the viewfinder” this image came through not one but two cameras to become the piece you see.

This is the first piece of work that I ever planned. I had an idea and then proceeded through to an end product. Luckily it kind of worked – otherwise I probably would have been shattered!

Created using a Vintage texture and including one of my own Glorious Nature Art Overlay bokeh textures…editing done in Photoshop CS3…this image won the challenge “flowers in a vase” in the group All About Flowers..thank you!!

Art, it is what it is. Just a quick painting done mostly with a napkin, my fingers and a knife. Acrylic on canvas with more of a watercolor effect – done very quickly and very roughly. A little something to clear my mind. Less is sometimes more. /

We had too much wind today to capture these wildflowers outdoors. Thus, almost a wild setting except for: An antique (a.k.a. tarnished) silver vase / Nikon D200 / Nikkor 105mm macro lens / 105mm / f/22 / 1.3 sec / -0.3ev / ISO 100 / manual exposure and focusing / studio lights / Collapsible gold reflector disc, mostly to shield the vase from too much light / Manfrotto tripod / Converted from RAW to jpeg using Capture NX2.2.1 The true macro lacks even more emotion, but was a joy for me to shoot. (Not posted). /
