Click Here Upper Antelope Canyon Is a spectacular petrified sand dune, created by wind, water and sand, presenting a sculptured masterpiece. / My Navajo Indian guide was lovely and explained many of the legends associated with this area. I kept returning to this spot, night after night, sometimes it was raining or misty and other nights were simply ideal though a tad chilly … This spectacular natural rock arch, sculpted by weathering and erosion from the sea over thousands of years is well worth visiting. Here you can also observe a colony of New Zealand Fur-seals as they feed, swim and laze on the shore platform below. If you cannot see them you can sure smell them ! Rota Island is a natural playground with around 3000 inhabitants and is known by many to be Micronesia’s best-kept secret / Rota (Chamoru: Luta) also known as the “peaceful island”, is the southernmost island of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the second southernmost of the Marianas Archipelago. It lies approximately 40 miles north-northeast of the United States territory of Guam. Songsong village is the largest and most populated followed by Sinapalo village (Sinapalu). In 1521, the first European to see Rota, was the lookout on Magellan’s ship Victoria, Lope Navarro. However, Magellan’s Armada of three ships didn’t stop until they reached Guam, so the first European to arrive in Rota (in 1524), was Spanish navigator Juan Sebastian Elcano, who annexed it together with the rest of the Marianas Archipelago on behalf of the Crown of Spain.
