THE VERY WEALTHY ATE GRILLED LOBSTER AND CONCH SALAD, FRIED PLANTAINS AND DRANK FIREY RUM ALL EVENING WHILE THEY MADE SMALL TALK AND NEVER NOTICED THE ORCHIDS ALL OVER THE BEACH HOUSE. THE MUSIC WAS SO LOUD AND THUNDERING REGGAE, CUBAN CIGARS ALL ABOUT AND THE TYPICAL CHATTER THAT SOUNDED LIKE SO MANY MONKEYS IN A CAGE. AFTER THE WAIT STAFF CLEANED, THEY WENT HOME TIRED BUT WELL PAID. THEY ATE GRILLED LOBSTER AND CONCH THAT THEY DOVE FOR, PLANTAINS THAT THEY PICKED ON A LONG WALK IN THE MORNING AND DRANK A LOVELY COCONUT MOJITO WITH THE VANILLA BEAN IN IT FROM THE ORCHIDS THAT THEY PICKED FOR THE PARTY AND THEIR SMALL HOME WAS FESTOONED WITH. THE FRAGRANCE WAS STAGGERING. THEY MADE TALK BUT NOTHING ABOUT IT WAS QUIET. THEIR BRAND OF TALKING WOKE THE RAINFOREST UP WITH THE SOUNDS OF LOVE. THOUGH POOR, THEY FELT LIKE THEY HAD FOUND THE ATOCHA. paintography by Miguel and photography by Miguel.
I did this a few months ago, just dug it out and looked at it again and thought, by golly, I still like it. So here it is. I never had a name for it before, but maybe because my sweet tooth is acting up, I see swirls of vanilla frosting on a dark chocolate cake, sprinkled with colorful sugar crystals. It cries for a cuppa coffee to go with.
This cake is a soft moist yellow cake (with a hint of lemon) topped with a luscious butter cream frosting. Amazingly enough, it has NO calories!

The t-shirt design with this cupcake came from this illustration. Yes, that cupcake originally had a little bit of a background to it. It was an ode to an adorable favorite dessert of mine. Why Cupcakes? They’re perfectly portioned and can be decorated in so many ways! They are not too messy to eat and all around delightful. Yes, cupcakes of the world, I adore you.
Vanille, my sister Carole’s other dog. Vanille is a young female Shih Tzu, who will not stay put for more than 2 seconds at a time. In addition, she has so much hair around her eyes that they are constantly in the shadows, making it very hard to catch her with a nice sparkle in her eyes. I have made perhaps more than two dozens shots of Vanille, and there are only one or two worth keeping in the lot. This is one of them… in fact, it is so good that it has been included into the Lucky’s Friends calendar for the month of September.

Banana Pudding / (easy version) Well this is what I sort of call the traditional version…just with out cooking the pudding like my gma does. :o) For this large of a pan I used: 6 Bananas / 2 small boxes of instant vanilla pudding / 1 box of vanilla waffers / 4 cups of milk (2 cups per box of pudding…as it calls for) / OH…and a throw away pan…the best to take to family get togethers….don’t have to worry about washing it or forgetting it at their house. LOL Mix up the pudding per box instructions for the 5 min. pudding in a different bowl than the one you will use for the actual banana pudding Place a single layer of vanilla waffers on bottom of large bowl Spread a layer of pudding Place a single layer of bananas (sliced circles) on top of pudding repeat with waffers, etc etc until you end up with no pudding…. Pudding layer should end up on top…..then I spread a layer of crushed vanilla waffers on top Chill and serve…or just serve when finished…it’s up to you. :o) ENJOY!!
This probably only makes sense in the UK. Just in case you’re thinking I’ve lost the plot. An icecream with a chocolate flake in it, is called a ‘99’ in the UK. JayZ skit!

I love the Gulf Fritillary butterfly. Both sides of It’s wings are equally beautiful, yet a totally different look viewed with wings open or closed. The flowering plant the butterfly is enjoying is called the: Firecracker Penstemon, Penstemon eatonii, Snapdragon or Figwort Family: ( Scrophulariaceae ), Firecracker Penstemon. Also called: Mexican firecracker, Beardtongue, Penstemon. A low evergreen shrub, or herbaceous perennial. This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds. It has sprawling or upright growth patterns. The flower stalks are often arched over near the tops and straighten out as the stem gains strength. The corolla lobes are very small so that it appears to be a very narrow long closed tube instead of being open.. Height: About 3 – 4 feet in height. Flowers: The flower is funnel-shaped, with short round lobes. The corolla is about 3/4 inch long, glandular and hairy on the outside. It has a broad upper corolla with a 2 – lobed lip, bent upward. The lower corolla lip is 3 – lobed and bent downward. There are 5 stamens, the fifth is sterile but bearded at the tip. / Stalk: Several erect, sparsely leaved stems with pinkish-lavender, bilaterally symmetrical flowers in a long, open, interrupted cluster. Blooming Time: February – May. Leaves: Green to blue – green, fleshy, about 2 – 5 inches long, triangular leaves, smooth. Found: Found throughout medium elevations in Arizona. Elevation: 2500 – 4500 Feet. Habitat: Chalky/alkaline, Dry, Sandy, Well-drained/light soils, sandy washes. -—-__-- *

(please listen to the music (below) as it enhances the viewing experience) The Vanilla Queen, she is the great aunt of Princess Margeret of leLaNd eKtel. She is a wonderful ruler but at times can be a harsh relative to the Princess. / In her efforts to teach her neice how to be a great ruler there have been times when she has been cruel. Even though her intentions have been good her ways of inflicting them may have been injurious. The Vanilla Queen is the main nemisis against the union between Princess Margaret & Penascus J.
