8.5” x 11” graphite pencil drawing on paper
Hands have always been a challenge to me. As a young artist I would go out of my way to avoid all drawings of hands or hide them. As an adult I realized it was time to take on my lack of ability to make it a challenge. Here is one of my earlier attempts a study of hands.

I have just completed my first drawing for the new years, of an Australian artist/rocker friend who sent me 9 photos to draw from. My goal is complete enough drawings of Simon to complete a pencil drawing book solely on him. If not, then I have several photos from others who are playing their guitars. So my question to you is: Do I complete a book on Simon alone, or draw the others to complete the book?

8.5” x 11: graphite pencil drawing on paper. This is a fellow artist I meet on MySpace a few years ago and finally got around to asking him I could draw him. He sent me four photos in a series and this is the first. I decided to leave the bottom of the drawing unfinished. Not out of being lazy but I tend to like pencil drawings to look just that. A pencil drawing.

4” x 5” graphite pencil drawing on paper. Here is a small drawing I created for an art gallery north of San Francisco, in hopes to attract some interest in my work. I never kept a high resolution copy of it…. I should have.
paper size: 8.5” x 11” / Graphite pencil drawing on paper. Artist: Tony Ryan called his photo :Wisdom” but I have titled the drawing from his photo “Grace 2” since this is the second drawing based on his beautiful work. I hope he pleased with what I have done. I only hope I was able to capture a small percents of her true beauty.
