A candid street photography shot taken in Brick Lane, East London in 2007
An old road sign riddled with bullet holes, apparently used for target practice, leans slightly off the highway near Balancing Rock in southern Idaho. This tourist stop has been heavily vandalized because of its secluded location and lack of state funding. Southern Idaho October 2007

“Well I think it’s gonna be one of those nights, R.Whites…” This [enormous, rather heavy looking] fridge is practically the only thing not looted from the kitchens of the Sergeant’s Mess, I wonder why..?!! For this shot I propped up the Nightsearcher inside to get raking shadows through the shelves.
The lighting & general arrangement in this corridor had an almost ‘old master’ feel to it… Whilst not the most exciting part of the Sergeant’s Mess, this has never the less ended up being my favourite shot from that outing.
I don’t know when I found this or where it is exactly, but I think it is in the alley way that runs between Walnut St. and Pearl St. in Boulder, CO. Somewhere near Broadway. Those details probably mean nothing to you though huh?
A road sign that transcends language and culture… An Australian icon.
