Spring in Australia means that the orange trees are blossoming. This will become a succulent Valencia orange when the miracle of transformation from bud to fruit is complete. A bullfight by its nature is violent, glossed over by a lot of pageantry and history. The only way I felt that I could capture it without the violence dominating it was to make it a blur, so I took this picture late in the day with a slow shutter speed. Taken with a Nikon D90. A laneway in the backstreets of Valencia, Spain. This was taken in June on a warm summer’s night. Everything was perfectly still and quiet down the lane. Huge contrast to the day time when you could barely walk down it with the amount of people about! The architecture in Valencia, Spain is stunning and varied. I am hoping to return and photograph it more extensively. Looking like something straight out of science fiction, these building are a must see if you visit Valenica. The image is a HDR to get the detail from the buildings and the wonderful sunset. The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía and Príncipe Felipe Science Museum at the Cuidad de las Artes y de las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences) Valencia. Designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, I spent a couple of hours here one sunset, waiting for the right light. Single shot processed three times using Adobe Camera Raw and then HDR processed using Photomatix 3.

I took this from a bus, while traveling between Madrid and Valencia, in Spain. I have no idea what this little village is called, but it was like something out of a movie. We past several of these on the 6 hour bus trip across the country. Spain has some spectacular scenery and quaint villages that almost seem trapped in time. Layered the original image twice, adjusted contrast and tone slightly. Added a texture layer from www.deviantart.com free use stock. Layered the texture several times over, adjusting the constrast, saturation and lightness on each to vary the colour and tone. Canon SX100IS MCN: CPPLS-ALHT7-XR34Q
