  • Mona Vale Pool
    by Brent Pearson

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Thought I’d play around with a slightly more surreal shot. The red light is from an overhead sodium light that casts a funky orange/red light on the pool. Great storm clouds brewing in the East around sunrise. Mona Vale pool is one of my favorites around Sydney. Enjoy.

  • Went out this morning to shoot Mona Vale pool. It was a very high tide (1.7m). Braved the waves to get some interesting shots of the water crashing over the pool. Very little Photoshop on this image (just a few curves and levels), other than that, this was how it came off the camera.

  • Rush Hour
    by hangingpixels

    US$6.41–US$171.00

I was standing in the middle of the on coming wall of water, it might look small now but when it got to me – it was up to my thighs. / More photos from the shoot of Mona Vale Pool - Got up at 4 to get to the pool for these shots, travelling petrol: $10 / - A can of WD40 to water proof the camera: $4.95 / (to use this – Hahah…. you sprey it onto a piece of cloth the wipe you camera with it, avoiding the lens and viewfinder….not sprey directly onto the camera….so what ever to reply moisture is good. It also stop salt sprey clinging itself on the camera too.) / - Stand in front of an on coming wall of sea water (Being scare sh#tless): PRICELESS!

  • Vale Ian Rilen
    by Juilee Pryor

    US$5.70–US$152.00

Ian Rilen was a legendary Sydney rock and roller and a member of bands such as Rose Tattoo, X and Sardine V. He died earlier this year and is much missed for his wild and wonderful ways. I found this candid back stage shot of him and his then wife Stephanie preparing to go onstage at the Trade Union Club in Sydney’s Surry Hills way way back in the early 80’s. They were in Sardine V at that time and when I look at this shot now the eighties rush back. Oh my misspent youth. :) So Vale Ian Rilen, I so hope things are rocking were ever you are. This shot is for you.

  • Isnt it great when all the elements click ? This morning everything clicked

  • High summer. A view from the Hambleton Hills, North York Moors National Park, UK. Taken with a Bronica SQAi and 50mm wide angle lens. 2 stop grey grad and polarising filter. Scanned from a 6×6cm Velvia slide.

  • BETTER VIEWED LARGER Mona Vale pool , on Sydneys northern beaches, one of the many coastal pools, here lit by the dawn of a new day. This shot was taken on a magical dawn, using Nikon D300, Nikon 18-200mm lens. No filters were used and the only post processing was to sharpen the image.

  • The Vale of Clwyd from Bylchau in North Wales.

  • BEST VIEWED LARGER Black and white version of my colour shot called “The Bather”

  • In memory of Rick Wright, keyboardist, composer, singer for Pink Floyd, Zee and solo. For me it was his textures and sense of space, proffered with self-effacing humility, which made him the rock upon which the mighty chords and vocals of Gilmour and Waters could sonorously break. The first band that etched its presence on my psyche, when I lay awake far too late on a Sunday night in 1972, as a 7 year old, listening to AM rock station 3XY in Melbourne, Australia as they played the album in its entirety without breaks through a single ear-piece on a crystal radio set I made from a kit my father bought me, was Pink Floyd. It was one of my earliest defining moments that made me, for better (I hope), or worse, the person I am now. His loss, from cancer, at age 65, will be great, but his legacy will live on in the timeless art he created with soundscapes. • Sydney is blessed with wonderful beaches too many to count, to the North and the South, all within a short drive or a bus trip. The water is clear and the fishing is great. This photo taken in dawn light shows two fisherman taking advantage of the low tide to fish the reef. “Walking in the Shallows” is Mona Vale Beach in the Northern Beaches area of Sydney a short drive from my home, . Yes I know it’s hard but someone has to live here !

  • Mona Vale pool is one of the many tidal pools on sydney beaches, at high tides or on this ocassion high waves the pool is encircled by the surf. The pool becomes rough enough for surfers to take refuge.
