Eilean Doan Castle one of the Iconic Scotish Castles was just a magic place to visit and photograph. I spent close to 6 hours taking in the surrounds, the atmosphere and the serenity and of course the odd photo or two. Here is one of my favourites, I really like the balance of light and the reflections. I hope you like it too.

It is a rare occasion when there is no wind blowing the palms, and there are enough clouds over the ocean to create a dramatic sunset at this location. I spent a week’s worth of evenings in this area before the conditions set up perfectly. Technically this is a series of 5 long exposures layered. I was using a 10mm lens on my little Canon XTi. It worked. This beach is in an area where there will soon be plenty of new construction, sadly. The “old” Maui is slipping away, and it breaks my heart. I hope images like this will preserve the pristine flavor for future generations.

Maluaka is a place on Maui where there is a comforting daily cloud cover reaching out from the high slopes of Mt. Haleakala and extending toward the island of Kaho’olawe . Without this protective cloud, the scorching equatorial sun would be relentless. I noticed this sunset beginning to happen, and I grabbed my gear and sprinted to the rocky Maluaka coastline just in time to make a nice capture.
Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco July, 2008. I”m putting this into a competition ‘Adverse Weather’ in a few weeks. Any suggestions/crtiques would be most welcomed.
As I crawled from my tent with blurred eyes, I could see that the sun was going to rise perfectly behind Alau Island. This image was unplanned, yet a perfectly wonderful stroke of luck.
I love the feel of this Frangipani shot. Different, unusual, talking point. What photography, art should be. Paul Lyman Frank Baum fine art photography / macro photography

Taken in the Northern Territory, Australia. Every other tree on this stretch of coastline was a green palm, this was only the exception and I couldn’t resist it. See my video on YouTube
