  • Nightshot of Waterside in Norfolk, VA. During the Christmas season, downtown buildings are outlined with lights as seen in this image. On windstill days the reflections cast can be pretty neat. My art with 1000+ views

  • Funny how something so ordinary, can be so interesting. Captured on my way out of the Bruton Parish Episcopal Church, in Colonial Williamsburg. One of the oldest Episcopal churches in the United States, Bruton has been serving members since 1715. Famous past worshipers include presidents Washington, Tyler, Monroe and Jefferson. My art with 1000+ views

  • Was taken in the Natural Bridge Caverns Va, in November 2008. / Deepest Caverns In The East / The Caverns were opened to the public in 1977. It was originally explored by Col. Henry Parsons in 1889-91, but the natural entrance was too steep for general use. When the modern development took place, some tools, a ladder, a lantern, and rope were found where they had been left in 1891. Taken with a Canon Digital Rebel XSI Handheld, As Is No Edit… / Shutter Speed 1/10 / Av 8.0 / WB Auto / Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM

  • Waterford, Va – 2006 – Single RAW. I had to modify the machine so it doesn’t upset a certain cola company. / Suburban Scenes by Mike Savad

  • HDR image of this old Russian vessel, moored in Norfolk, Virginia. I believe she is being gutted and will be made into a man made reef. / I am still experimenting with my HDR work, for awhile I thought I had lost my “touch”. Seems like it is coming back to me …... My art with 1000+ views

  • Downtown Richmond, Va shot from atop Church Hill

  • Last night I went to the Airpower Over Hampton Roads Airshow. I stopped near a parking lot at the end of the runway, and was treated to the return of four F-15E Strike Eagle pilots. As they walked towards us, they asked us how they looked and if their 4 ship formation was nice and tight. They then joked that this pictured pilot here, was probably way off the mark, I even commented that I didn’t get his plane in even with THAT lens. It was fun to see the human aspect of an airshow, and having a laugh with these hometown heros. I can’t believe how young these “kids” looked.

  • The economic downturn continues to make itself apparent. Couldn’t resist to take a few images of these Mannequinns that are now no longer “employed”, as the store is closing its doors. Couldn’t resist thinking about how Von McKnelly would have enjoyed stumbling upon this scene, and what images he would have taken. Captured at Dilliards, in Chesapeake, VA. This image is currently on display at the Walls Fine Art gallery in Downtown Norfolk, VA.

  • American Bald Eagle bringing fish remains to the three fledging bald eagles, captured at Norfolk Botanical Gardens, Norfolk, VA.

  • A place where the Natives roamed, out in the sprit world. Single RAW image, converted to HDR using ReDynaMix. / Taken with Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-70mm lens.

  • Took this some time ago, while testing a new Sigma f/2.8 lens. I am adding this into a Norfolk Landscape Art Exhibit, it looks FANTASTC on metallic print paper (11×14, matted and framed). / I now use White House Custom Color (WHCC) for my printing needs, they really do a great job. Just wanted to get some feedback here, if folks like this shot as much as I do.
