Hi all, Just a quick note to let you know that I have fixed some bugs and updated my RB utilities. Here is the summary: RB Utility – Top Tens (displays your wins and top-ten placements) / Now displays WINs as well as Top Tens. Also there are two cut & paste options for journals (full description) and for your profile (just the icon), both with “hover text” that shows when the cursor is placed over the picture. RB Utility – All Challenges & Entries (shows what groups are running challenges and what you have entered) / Now handles descriptions with single quote marks correctly, has correct links for the artwork, shows the correct time left for the challenge and now gives the option on the login screen, for choosing to see only Open or Voting challenges (default is both) RB Utility – Which groups is my art in (shows all of your artwork with a list of which groups each has been accepted in) / No updates yet, but expect a major re-vamp soon, to speed it up, as well as a sibling utility for showing the same information but sorted by group (i.e. by group, which art pieces you have submitted to that group) – watch this space… RB Utility – My Features (cut & paste links to your latest features) / Although this information is readily available in RB, this utility provides the feature descriptions in RB format, ready for cut & pasting into journals and profiles (similar to the output of the “Top Tens” above) RB Utility – All My Work (A “wall” with all your work on one page) / New utility that gives you a thumbnail wall of all your work on one page. Clicking on a thumbnail will take you to the editing page for that work. Invaluable if you have over 100 photos and can’t remember what page they are on! I hope you find these useful and enjoy using them. I have written these for my own use, and I have become entirely dependent on them. If you have other ideas for improvements or other utilities that you think would be useful, drop me a line! Regards / George (29 March 2009)

(apologies for the re-posting, I was told by RB to make this a journal entry rather than a “writing” entry – please re-favorite this entry instead) Calling all Groupies… I’ve recently been preparing a number of RB utilities to make my life easier, which I will share with all of you to use. This is a utility for displaying each of your art works, with a list of which groups it has been submitted to. All on a single page. Disclaimer: this has nothing to do with RB, don’t go blaming them if it goes wrong. This is just me, making my life easier and sharing it out :-) Comments, suggestions, criticism all welcome! :-) My Art in Groups: / http://www.documentmanagement.org.uk/rb/RBartgroups.php By default, it displays the latest 20 pieces of art, but you can change that number up or down on the login screen. Use 999 to get everything. WARNINGS / 1) This utility will take a while to run. It has a lot to do to collect that info. Be patient! / 2) The utility does not store passwords, but it doesn’t use encryption either. If your RB password is the same as your bank account’s – Change it! / 3) Don’t get confused by the checkboxes next to the groups name, they don’t actually do anything! I hope you find it useful. Bookmark this post and come back whenever you want a summary of which groups your art has been posted in. / Regards, George Last updated: 31 October 2008

If you are into RB challenges, one of the biggest frustrations is trying to remember what you have entered in which challenge, and trying to remember to keep checking if your entries have finished in the top ten. This little utility, goes through all the challenges in your groups that have completed, and shows you any entries that have finished in the top ten of the challenge, including their ranking. It shows them in reverse order, so the latest ones come first. In addition (if you leave the checkbox ticked on the login screen) it will print out the exact text you need to cut & paste into your RB journals for each top-ten. UPDATE: 14 Jan 2009 / New version, now shows winners as well as top-tens. It also includes hover text for the images with today’s date included, ready to cut & past into your journals/profiles Disclaimer: this has nothing to do with RB, don’t go blaming them if it goes wrong. This is just me, making my life easier and sharing it out Top Tens: / http://www.documentmanagement.org.uk/rb/RBTopTens.php WARNINGS / 1) This utility will take a while to run. It has a lot to do to collect that info. Be patient! / 2) The utility does not store passwords, but it doesn’t use encryption either. If your RB password is the same as your bank account’s – Change it! / 3) The “limit” on the login screen defaults to 5, that means 5 pages of completed challenges, not top tens, which should be adequate for most cases. / 4) There is one known problem: If the group has had a new challenge completed after the one with your placement, your entry may appear out of order. I hope you find it as useful as I have. Bookmark this post and come back whenever you want to get a handle on your challenges & entries. Comments, suggestions, criticism, other ideas, all welcome! :-) Regards, George

This is the one you’ve all asked me for… If you are into RB challenges and many groups, one of the biggest frustrations is trying to remember what you have entered in which challenge, and keeping track of which challenges are open. This has been bugging me almost since I joined RB. It took me a while to figure this one out, but here its. Use the link below, to get a report that across the 1100+ groups that are hosted on RB… shows… what challenges are running in each group how long each challenge is running for (open or voting) if you are a member of each group or not what art you have submitted to that challenge, if anything All of these… on one web page (so you can print it) with live links, so that you can directly jump to the group, challenge or art piece UPDATE: 15 January 2009 / New version which fixes single quotes in challenge names, corrected links to your work and an extra option on the login screen to choose if you want to only see “Open” or “Voting” challenges – the default is both. Disclaimer: this has nothing to do with RB, don’t go blaming them if it goes wrong. This is just me, making my life easier and sharing it out Comments, suggestions, criticism, other ideas, all welcome! :-) All Challenges & Entries: / http://www.documentmanagement.org.uk/rb/RBwhatsubmitted.php WARNINGS / 1) This utility will take a while to run. It has a lot to do to collect that info. Be patient! / 2) The utility does not store passwords, but it doesn’t use encryption either. If your RB password is the same as your bank account’s – Change it! I hope you find it as useful as I have. This photo was taken at my Dad’s yard, it is full of all sorts of stuff.
Here’s a “true blue” Aussie, taken Sept 07 … the ute owners weren’t half bad either!!! Rotten rainy day, but it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm. Processed in Photomatix and fiddled in PS. / I also processed this as a sketch, and did a B&W version – very interesting results!! / Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM / / / /
This very special Fargo is resting in regal glory at GailD’s place … I’m surprised it hasn’t featured prior to this on the pages of RB!!! (You may notice both Gail and Katie are more interested in giving some attention to a four-footed friend in the background!) Handheld shot, late afternoon (on the tail end of a lovely country dust storm!), single jpeg treated in Photomatix (3 copies) and CS3. Its disco love tonight. make sure you look alright.

In the back of this block of the hospital is a wee small utility room with the switchgear for the block as well as a Belfast sink at the back. Unfortunately this room was locked up entirely apart from a small hole in one of the window boardings, just enough to stick my lens through and get this shot. Its a shame when you see into a building like this but cant get in yourself entirely, its like a little tease of the inside without letting you see the rest. Ah well, plenty other rooms to move on to. Even when there is just a small hole into a room like this ill always still have a spy through and stick a torch in, you never know what you might catch a glimpse of! / / / See the rest of this site walk through / /
No its not a pick up, its a true blue aussie ute! Holden Commodore VE. NOt really a fan but its my first attempt at Selective Colouring. My mates ute as seen in other pics. Thanks for looking.
I had this up on devart but it proved so underwhelmingly popular for such a stunning peice,i thought it might be better apreciated here. / chinon pocket zoom ,other stuff

Hello my friends, Done! All the utilities are back on line and working. Assuming RB leave their new cute interface alone (they changed the way they present groups three times while I was fixing it!!!), we should be good for a while. And If not, I’ll just have to fix them again… LOL. (For those of you that understand what this means, I dream of the day there is a RedBubble API or SDK…). Any comments or ideas, just bmail me! Oh, I almost forgot! I’ve added a new utility that several of you have asked me for – check the bottom of the list! FIXED: / RB Utility – Top Tens (displays your wins and top-ten placements) / Now displays WINs as well as Top Tens. NEW: / RB Utility – Am I a featured member? / New utility that works through the list of the groups you are a member of, and tells you if you have been featured as a member. BEWARE: If you belong to a lot of groups this will take a LONG time to run. Be patient… Regards / George (16 May 2009)
I would like to express my deepest thanks to all the heroic people who work to restore power after a storm. I took this shot of men from Entergy who were working in blinding rain after Gustav hit Louisiana to help us get some normalcy back into our lives. They are unsung heroes who do their work under the most strenuous conditions, sometimes under cover of dark and sometimes far away from the comfort of their homes. This particular crew was 300 miles away from their home; God bless them all. Miraculously, we have power again, only two days after the storm hit! That’s a record! We usually have to wait at least a week. Air conditioning never felt so good as it does tonight! Thank you, Entergy! You’re the best! I would like to submit this photo to the group “Angel Wings and Poems” because these men are truly angels in service to mankind!

We captured this image of first responders to a sports utility vehicle roll-over accident which occured while we were canvassing downtown for photo opp’s. Fortunately, everyone survived the accident.. We salute these incredible individuals who deal on a daily basis with mortality & the fragility of life. Chad & Gary
This card was created in tribute to the heroic men and women who work for power utility companies. They go out into the most horrendous weather to restore power to homes and to help people get their lives back to normal after natural disasters. This young man was cutting through a huge tree that fell over power lines. He was standing on a slippery slope under the branches with a chain saw trying to disentangle the mess when the giant pinchers that were holding a big portion of the tree in a tight grip over his head loosened and almost dropped the tree right onto him. Shouts and waving from his coworkers got his attention; he scurried out and the pinchers were readjusted tightly around the branch overhead before he resumed the cutting. It was a scary thing for me to witness but something I’m sure these people are accustomed to experiencing. I entitled this card “You light up my life” because these men do that literally—restore light to homes darkened by the storms that blow through with regularity everywhere.
