  • Upper Antelope Canyon – USA Tour 2008 The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon is Tse’ bighanilini, which means “the place where water runs through rocks.” Upper Antelope is at about 4,000 feet in elevation and the canyon walls rise 120 feet above the stream bed. Though dry most of the year, Antelope Canyon runs, and sometimes floods, with water after rains. It is the water, slowly wearing away the sandstone grain by grain, that has formed the beautiful and graceful curves in the rock. Wind has also played a role in sculpting this fantastic canyon. / Click Here WARNING / ©2008 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.

  • Taken on the trail to “The Basin” on Friday October 3/08. Nikon D40, Nikkor 18-55mm lens. / The Basin is a naturally occuring granite bowl in the White Mountains range and is part of the Franconia Notch State Park, located in the heart of the popular White Mountain National Forest, New Hampshire USA / On this trail are cascades and waterfalls leading to The Basin, which is believed to have been eroded 15,000 years ago while the North American ice sheet was melting. The Basin has been smoothed by small stones and sand, whirled around by the Pemigewasset River. / I didn’t make it as far as The Basin this time (have been there in the past), because I was caught by surprise in an unexpected downpour. I quickly shoved my camera into the case and wrapped my sweater around it. Then looked for my friend Wanda who was nowhere to be found. She had made it all the way to The Basin ahead of me. I was lucky to find cover under the roof of an outhouse at the beginning of the trail. It rained and hailed for about 20 minutes. When my friend Wanda made it back, she was soaking wet. This is one of two shots I managed to get. ! • Bleeding love Where are we, what the hell is going on / The dust has only just begun to fall / Closed off from love, spinning round again / We didn’t need the pain, twice or thrice was enough / It was all in vain, time never ceases to pass / We’re frozen in this cycle of destruction Oil marks appear on walls, / where pleasure moments hung before / Sweeping insanity, sweeping insanity / Oh the insensitivity Something happened on the way, we lost our way / There was a very first time with us, we tasted the displeasure / The bile of unhappy endings and scorched earth policies / We let our hearts melt, / disappearing into the very ground we tread upon / We lost what was true, found something false to replace it / People get ready, there’s a train a coming / And everyone’s looking round, / but we no longer know who is going crazy / I know I’m going crazy Few are bold to say without care for circumstance / I don’t care what they say, I am still in love with you / Torturous souls that love the very thing that makes them sad / They try to pull us away, but they don’t know the truth / Our heart’s are crippled by the vein they keep on closing / They cut us open, and we keep bleeding / We just keep bleeding love We tried hard not to hear, but they talk so loud / Their pandering and propaganda piercing our ears / Question and they try to fill us with doubt / Our goal is to keep me from falling Nothing in this world is greater than the rush that comes / with our patriotic embrace / In this world of loneliness we must cease to lose face / Now everyone around us is going crazy, maybe, maybe It’s draining our history, it’s draining our souls / They find it hard to believe that we pity them / It is all of us who will be wearing these scars / For everyone to see Taken w/Nikon D2Xs + Nikkor 300/2.8 AFS VR

  • Acrylic painting. This painting was inspired by the lake that we visit in Northern California. The trees are so thick and there are layers and layers. I would love to work on more like this and get a better feel for the trees, but for now I enjoyed finding a way to show the beautiful pines as the caught a Moment of Sun. / / /

  • Wildflowers in Colorado’s Winter Park. Taken in July of this year. I needed a break from winter and gray drudgery… Please see my Etsy listing for this image – and purchase a pearlescent metallic print of this beautiful photograph!

  • Shot in the Lamar Valley, YELLOWSTONE National Park, USA. A lucky grab-shot. / I had spotted the Cottonwoods and wanted to capture the beautiful colours of Fall against the shadowy hill behind, then I saw the Male Bison emerge from the trees. He had a mission on his mind, a couple of females across the river, LOL !! (out of sight of this shot.) He was moving pretty quickly, and luckily I had my short telephoto lens already attached to the camera ! A magical moment and experience !! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, set on Landscape mode, Aperture Priority, with polarising filter, hand-held, iso 200, f 6.7, 1/180 sec , underexposed by one stop because of the dark shadowy hill , Auto WB ( I mostly use this), lens was my Canon EF 75-300mm set at 200mm (don’t have this lens anymore) RAW file, processed in Adobe Camera Raw, then tweaked in PS CS3, with selective Levels/Curves, and selective colour adjustments. • Saint Mary Lake, Glacier National Park, Montana, USA. Where else would you want to be on a morning like this ? The Elk were bugling across the Lake, it was warm, the air was very still, reflections all around me, gorgeous mountains everywhere…......... / felt like I was in heaven !! / All I had to do was get down a very steep bank on the lakeside – then get back up, Help !! / Magic ! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, mounted on tripod, polarising filter attached, f22, 1/15 sec, iso 100, auto wb, shot at 50mm on my 18-55mm lens, RAW file processed in Adobe Camera RAW, then CS3 with tweaks in levels/curves and selective colour. • Another image from Yellowstone National Park , Wyoming, on our holiday from last Autumn. (2008) / West Thumb Geyser basin is on the shores of Yellowstone Lake, and is a kaleidoscope of colours, like Mother Nature went crazy with Photoshop !! Boardwalks go in various directions, and it is a hard choice, which way shall I go ??!! I chose to ‘follow the light’ / and Mother Nature gave me a helping hand with a sky straight from my dreams ! / I hope you enjoy this one ! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, hand held, polarising filter, f11, 1/60sec, auto wb, RAW file processed in CS3, levels/curves/selective colour etc. FEATURED IN…....... / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/focus-and-lighting / AND / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/streams-brooks-creeks SEE MORE OF MY USA SET HERE… >

  • Taken in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA. Pretty much a tourist snapshot of the Falls, which I thought I would share with you ! / A rather crowded place, justifiably so, who wouldn’t want to see this sight ? The Canyon has some amazing colours, and I found the best time was towards evening to be viewed at it’s best. The vertiginous slopes are very loose and crumbly, and I wondered how those trees maintain their perilous foothold !! Shot on a Canon EOS 40D, polariser, tripod, f22, 1/3 sec, iso 100, auto wb, RAW file processed in PS CS3, levels/curves/selective colour adjustments.
