  • The coldest winter in China for 50 years. This young girl was so motionless, she appeared almost frozen, just standing on the spot staring at the ground where she had the gloves she was selling displayed. She finally looked up and straight into the lens.

  • I was inspired by the contrast and affect of soft, quieting snow to busy city life and its bold structures. This was mainly painted using a palette knife and heavily textured with impasto. • Edinburgh is and traditionally always has been a very exciting place to be at Christmas and New Year. If you would like to buy a card, print or poster just go to buy/preview

  • Paris at dawn – taken with a wide angle lens.

  • The main stencil image is one layer of the four layer stencil I created in early 2008 inspired by my interest in fashion photography. ‘Snow and Umbrella’ is 1 of 3, utilising the same same stencil and composition of works I’ve posted on Red Bubble at the moment. The other is ‘Rain Birds’ and ‘Umbrella and Rain’.

  • A small laneway in Venice, Italy, one rainy morning. Thanks to Janys Hyde / for the description of the location of this shot: / the bridge just visible on the right which leads into the square of S.S. Apostoli one of the squares en route along the Lista di Spagna, a main thoroughfare between the railway station and the Rialto Bridge. 2008 This photograph in the The Top Ten of the Black and White Photography group Street challenge Featured on the home page, 24 Sept 2008. • We all spend a part of each day, just waiting for something…a phone call…a bus to come…the traffic to move…the kettle to boil…a holiday…a pay rise…love…happiness…success…a file to upload. / Perhaps you’ve been waiting your whole life for something to happen? / Or maybe it’s just about to…any minute now.

  • The image has been created as an alternative to the popular and greatly exaggerated theory of global warming and its consequences. Since global warming activists predict a dramatic change of the planet’s surface in the nearest future, the Ice Age Premonition portrays our society in the new Ice Age. / Ice Age – A cold period marked by episodes of extensive glaciations alternating with episodes of relative warmth. Any geologic period during which thick ice sheets cover vast areas of land. Such periods of large-scale glaciations may last several million years and drastically reshape surface features of entire continents. A number of major ice ages have occurred throughout the Earth’s history; the most recent periods were during the Pleistocene Epoch. There have been at least four major ice ages in the Earth’s past. The last glacial period ended about ten thousand years ago. / Surrealism art prints / Digital art prints / Fantasy digital art wallpapers

  • OK, one more for those who fancy another round….. / I passed the local Winter Wonderland (Maastricht, Netherlands) and stopped to take some pictures of the carousel. Great colors even on cloudy day. Have a look at my other photos. • Not so urban exploration from the southern Finland.

  • I was back up at the Bunkyou Civic Centre yesterday, this time with one of my students. The sunset was extraordinary. It was impossible to control the lens-flare as I was shooting straight into the sun for this shot. Five-shot bracketed HDR with very little done to the colour. This is pretty much, apart from a bit of a shift in the tonal contrast, what the scene looked like through the lens. Nikon D300 / Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 ED / 5-frame bracketed burst merged in Photomatix 2.5.4

  • Captured on a very bright sunny winter’s day in December down by the banks of the Ottawa River after a fresh snowfall. The late afternoon sun cast very long shadows that accentuated the loneliness of the park bench while also conjuring up the summer past. Taken behind Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Also appears in the calendar Reflections of the Seasons

  • The afternoon sun shadowing the pedestrians walking through Micklegate Bar in York. This is the traditional Royal entrance to York, a fact forgot by a certain Prince A’s driver, which lead to a slight traffic jam as he then had to turn around and drive round the ring road till he came into this entrance.. Where this arch now stands a pub used to back up to it.

  • Another old photograph of New York taken on a cold and snow filled February. This is the light of NYC at it’s best, reflecting off the glass on Broadway and W52, with the Late Show theatre in the background. Converted to a Holga/film effect

  • Today we had a beautiful thick fog which rolled in mid-morning, settling at a low level. This is early on, heading downhill into the city. I’ll be posting a few more fog pictures over the next couple of days.
