On my return visit to Swaledale I just had to try and repeat my earlier Gateway photo, this time with the gate open to feed you into the scene… I didn’t quite manage the same angle, the Gateway shot was done hand held, this was taken from my tripod so the shot was from a lower viewpoint.

Upper Antelope Canyon is located near Page, Arizona. It is on the Navajo Reservation and only accessible via guided tour from the Navajo tribe. This place was simply fantastic. There even is a certain charm in this Black and White version.

Photographed at Letchworth State Park, in Portageville – New York (USA). Genesee River. The bridge in the background was constructed between June 8, 1875 and July 31, 1875. The bridge is 820 feet (250 m) long and 240 feet (73 m) high. A train passed over this bridge while photographing it today. I have been waiting many years to visit Page, Arizona and see the Navajo Slot Canyons. The Upper Antelope Canyon was our first visit and we really enjoyed the spectacular shapes and colors of the sandstone. Visited Toorongo Falls first then Amphitheatre Falls before heading further upstream until we came to this spot where the river simply disappeared under these rocks. The scenic Presque Isle River is located in the south west portion of Porcupine Mountain State Park on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, USA. The river is easily accessible, although there are a good number of stairs get down to the bank, where you will find a boardwalk that goes along the riverbank. There is a good number of midsized to small wateralls on this river, and it is a easy walk to the shore of Lake Superior, where the river ends. / This shot was taken from under the suspension bridge. In twelve years I’d never seen this waterfall, drove through the Akatarawa Road heading to the coast many times, never seen the waterfall, the sign says “Jock Atkins waterfall 200m” i thought it was a myth. About a month ago i had to fetch our dog from the home stay in the Akatarawas, we’d hat continuos rain for days, as I rounded a tight bend in the road there it was, a narrow gap in the bush revealed this lovely fall, I collected the dog raced home to get the camera and went back to get this. Just found a lovely tribute to Jock Atkins on the Efil Doog site, Jack died the year we came to New Zealand and its taken me 12 years to find him, thanks Jack for revealing your splendid fall to me. Taken on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Nikkor lens
