Well I finally have done what I have been wanting to do for a long time. I purchased a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTI 10.1 MP. I have been wanting a full Digital SLR camera for a very long time. It is my very first one. I currently own the Canon Powershot S3 but it was limiting me way to much. / I also purchased a killer lens. / The Sigma Zoom Telephoto 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro Autofocus Lens So hopefully soon I will be uploading some new work. Sorry to say I have not bought the IR filter yet. / Also on Friday I am beginning my first class as a member of / The Cleveland Photographic Society Its a class that meets every week for learning and competitions. / Also do field trips. I would like to thank everyone on this site for inspiring me to get more involved with Photography.

The historically preserved (or reconstructed where it was just too unsafe to fix) Old Sacramento is one of the biggest tourist [traps] draws in town. Some of the streets are still cobblestone and a royal pain to drive, walk, or load musical equipment from a vehicle on without being either bounced into pieces or risking destruction from a fall. In other words, cute but impractical. Sorta like spending a pile of cash to be seen in a carriage wandering thru the perpetually busy streets. At least there have been a load of modern day improvements: an “apple sack” for those times when you have to “do it on the road”; a functional brake pedal that I’m sure really makes a horse thrilled when applied; a bucket and shovel (I don’t know…Overflow???); rubber on the wheels, and; brake lights. What I want them to figure out is how to put a huge plastic bag for other horsie functions in front of the “apple sack”... PS I really tried to get all of the other 21st century trappings out of this picture but the cars were everywhere and that mammoth ugly building in the background just wasn’t going anywhere.

The upgraded Natalie Perkins package offers all the same fabulous features as Natalie Baird, but we’ve changed the name to reflect our merge with the Nicholas Perkins system. / This is a pre-release image of the upgrade and partnership with the Perkins development team. The finished images, currently in post-production with Kate O’Brien Creative, are due to hit in the next week or so – stay tuned!

We have just had a small technical overhaul at RedBubble with the installation of some new systems. These systems have zero downtime and are immune from viruses or any known technical glitch. They also run entirely on biomass (human) energy. The only wonder is that they had not been thought of before. Ed is the first person to have his system fully installed. This is a picture of him using it. As part of this release we have added a new “featurette” to the site. The first person to discover it and bubblemail me (pilgrim) about it wins a $20 gift voucher. There is a new baby in the family :) no no guys i’m not prego’s lol. I have a new photography baby. I’ve ordered the new canon Rebel EOS rebel Xsi and the 70-300 mm telephoto lens. Unfortunately the camera won’t be in my hands until thursday and the lens won’t be here until the 26th. So in the mean time i’m drooling with aniticipation of the arrival of my new baby!! I can hardly wait to work with the new camera. Thankfully the camera will be here in time for me to take it on its first road trip the next day. I leave to take the images to the gallery on the 25th :) / Just had to share my excitement lol thanks for all the wonderful comments everyone. your all the best / hugs

I still love my olympus which is an awesome camera but i can’t wait to play with the new one. Telephoto lens isn’t here yet but soon / and this is me being a goof. /

How do you know if you need a camera upgrade?

I’ve been thinking about upgrading my camera and have been doing a bit of research, as well as saving my pennies, of course. I’m thinking of upgrading from my very cute little Canon S5 IS camera to a camera that can do oh-so-much-more. The dilemna is this: how do you know you even need to upgrade? There’s nothing wrong with my camera, it’s in perfect working order. I don’t need to worry about packing lenses for it, as it doesn’t come with any. It has some manual settings and room for creative image making. It wasn’t that expensive that if I drop it/lose it, it won’t be the end of the earth (well, it will be…but you know, not like some more expensive cameras that I could lose/break/drop). So tell me, how did you know you were ready to upgrade your camera gear? I’m looking for answers that can justify the upgrade, you see…serious, humourous, outlandish, practical answers are sought.

This is my long lost friend from school! We were good friends right through school but lost touch for about 18 years once we both started working. We recently found each other again on Facebook and have reunited! My freind doesn’t believe in doing anything easy and has had a pretty rough time since school. Recently she gave up the cigarettes and alcahol completely and has been working hard to get in shape…. Looks to me like it’s working! What an inspiration and what a woman! (38 years old!)
