  • Originally, this image was created for my book of poetry, ‘Sweet Surrender’ to accompany a poem entitled ’ A day is like a thousand years’. Since then, both the image and the poem have undergone a bit of metamorphisis. The poem was interwoven with another, and became a longer poem entitled ‘Time’. Though I have not firmly decided that it shall not be given back it’s former title. The image, during working on a revision of the book, was altered without intent. The original is grayscale. This is the product of the hackers at play, having corrupted a vital program or two Then, I resized it and made minor modifications, so it is a new image, dated as completed today. I submit this to the group I have chosen because it was originally created to accompany a poem is part of a book of poetry, and is the visual reflection of that poem- adding to its meaning.

  • It is ironic how seemingly impossible it is for one person to say goodbye, and yet so exceedingly easy for the other to do likewise. I’m sure we’ve all been there.

  • New Work- Artist challenge- ‘Unrequited Love’ / ‘Loving Kathleen’ 24″ x 18″ Oils Finished sides, ready to hang, needs no frame Will be on the web site soon, it is available for sale Here is the quote that goes with this work: “There is only misfortune in not being loved; there is misery in not loving.” Albert Camus (1913 – 1960) / This work was created for an Artists Challenge group that I have joined. The theme was Unrequited / Love. I don’t know what Unrequited love is. I mean I really don’t know from a romantic sense. I’ve / ever only really loved the person I am in love with now. Rejection sure, I know that one…that’s / different though. So, I have been thinking and reading other peoples blogs to see if I could find / this…unrequited love. The unrequited love of my life may well be of my own flesh and blood and / spirit. My family of birth, still my greatest wealth of inspirations for my works, my understanding of / the world, the universe, my place in it all. This painting was done with my little girl memory of a / Mother I never really knew. My Unrequited love is that between myself and my Mother of Birth. / It really helped me to resolve and understand how you can love someone that you don’t even / know, and how you can grow and heal from that pain too…making you (and me) and better, / stronger, more improved version of ourselves. / Thank you Universe for letting me work this painful memory free, and leaving the pain I felt all / these years go off into the ether. I feel free to love her now, and it does not matter if she ever / knows it, or I ever get to share it. It’s a beautiful thing in life to love, and that’s what I am going to / hold onto now, the love. Forget pain. It’s just so heavy to carry around in a persons soul. / Forgive, not forget and love…lots of love for her and for myself too. / Living is a form of art. The finest form. Thanks for being here, / Heather /

  • This tshirt design is a rough drawing of two cats, one black and one white, with the black cat obviously crazy in love with the white cat. Unfortunately the white cat doesn’t return the feelings. It’s based on a vintage French postcard picked up in a flea market. The postcard probably dates from the early 1900s.
