These Pink Poppies are about the elements. The Earth energy is strong and I have painted some pink fire energy to produce the earth. / In the cycle of elements this print intends to activate three main sections of the pakua. Place in the Northeast, Southwest and the Centre.
In displaying the dragonfly there is a sense of freedom. This print can be placed anywhere. It brings joy with its uplifting and exuberant nature.
The dizzy after spell you feel coming off the chairoplane is depicted here. Created in illustrator and Photoshop, unworldly bright colours and blurs gives the piece an in motion feel.

“Yeeehaaa,” roared Jim. His face creased with laughter and he felt somewhat light-headed, even with the benefit of a pressure suit. He turned to Frankie at his side. “Woah! That dive gets me every time.” “Me too,” chortled Frankie, “although it’s the first time we’‘ve done it with invisibility off.” Frankie gently tweaked the single control column, levelling the, “Frisbee” over the Yarra. “What we are doing will change Earth for ever, Jim.” said Frankie grimly. All traces of the euphoria they had both felt at the end of the swoop, had evaporated like the fog over the Yarra. “Someone had to do it”, replied Jim softly. His eyes betraying a sadness, at odds with his clipped comment. They dipped lower and slowed, drifting silently forward about 100 metres above the dark waters, reflected like some giant metallic Krispy Kreme. They needed to be as visible as possible to the morning crowds. The time for pretending, misinformation and outright lies, was over. No-one could stop them now. Ever since the days of the USAF’s infamous “Project Blue Book”, cover up. There had been a small group of dissenters, effectively silenced, through means both fair and fowl. After secret and careful preparation, their time had come. They had finally decided to risk all and act. Frankie tweaked the controls and then let the craft settle into its auto landing function. They touched down near to the harbour entrance and within minutes, helicopters and fighter aircraft from the Australian Air force were buzzing overhead, like angry gnats ahead of a summer storm. The nervous and expectant crowds lined every vantage point and cameras, both official and private clicked and whirred away – capturing and sending information at light speed around the globe. The ramp lowered and the crowds hushed as the men walked slowly and deliberately down and towards the awaiting media. Jim grinned again, exposing row after row of very tiny, but very sharp teeth…

Digital Print A popular television series. “Hajimete no otsukai?(a rough translation being ‘My first errand’) / follows the adventures of young children as they embark on their first errand, alone. / In Japan, when children turn three or four they are often sent on an errand by their parents to go grocery shopping by themselves for the first time, preparing them for the years ahead in which they will have to walk to and from school everyday. This, once being a rite of passage, is now less common following the recent rise in kidnaps and murders of young children in Japan. / The program itself is extremely elaborate, the camera operators have cameras disguised in briefcases, baskets, hats, etc and will follow these children on their successful or unsuccessful missions. Often children lose their way, buy the wrong items, fall asleep, wander aimlessly while talking to themselves or get side-tracked by other more interesting adventures, such as playgrounds or building snowmen. The twins, ‘futago’ in Japanese, depicted in this work were the protagonists in one such episode of “Hajimete no otsukai’. The two little girls “Shuna? and “Hina? dressed the same, finished each others sentences and seemed even to walk in unison until one point at which they reached a fork in the road, one turned left, the other right and they then spent the next 30 mins arguing over which direction they both thought was the right way. They returned home crying, but after being consoled by their mother, they then set off again and returned victorious but with far too many cakes than were on the list.
