We go thru life’s journeys with many uncertainties. Life has its ups and downs and we must be willing to accept them both. Sometimes when everything is closing in on us we must be willing to keep going even though we dont know what lays out there.

“That’s a great conversation going down there in the water!” Ophelia hooted! Her acute sense of hearing led her to a giant jar filled with colourful guppies which were busy chatting about how the changing climate had affected the water condition. However, she stood by the rim of the jar, contemplating to join in or not. For that, she had to enter into the waters to be part of the robust conversation. “I’m an Overcomer!” Ophelia reasoned hard within. “Maybe after this experience, my phobia of water would be gone forever!” She hooted in great faith! I found this little guy at Whiterock beach with his parents… it was his first trip to the beach and he was not sure what he thought of it. I caught him halfway between laughing and crying.

Incredulous, concerned, curious, stunned…I can’t really define the look (any suggestions welcome). This was taken just before she melted and laughed heartily (Karen girl with pipe image). I took one more with another totally different expression when I was visiting her village in Mae Hong Son province Thailand in the early 1980’s. Nikon FM2, Nikkor 135mm lense, kodachrome slide film.
