Started in 2003, this painting got placed in the attic for 4 years while she pursued her career in graphic design. I competed this landscape in February 2008. Dragon Hill is the small hill located at the base of the Uffington White Horse Hill in the Vale of the White Horse.

Walkers moving along the ramparts at the hill fort at White Horse Hill in Oxfordshire, into the setting sun. Some lens flare but I don’t mind!

This is a photo of Dragon Hill at Uffington, which is a rounded natural chalk outcrop. Some say the ‘scar’ (which is the light coloured part in the centre of the pic) on the summit is the spot where St George killed the dragon, spilling its blood and poisoning the soil forever. Many thanks to the National Trust website for the info and for letting me know whereabouts in the world this is so I could go and visit it in person.
