Drifting, floating, reaching, gaining… A bit of play with some abstract knotwork.
Bowl of stir fried udon noodles garnished with black sesame seeds and fresh mint with green chopsticks Karin’s Fabulous Stir Fried Udon Recipe / (or as my son’s friends used to call it when they were kids, “Fried Worms”) 1/2 package of udon or soba noodles (whole wheat or white) / 3 T tamari or soy sauce / 2 T brown or white rice vinegar / 1 T light or dark sesame oil / Red pepper flakes to taste / Sesame seeds, green onions for garnish (I used mint in the photo, because that is all I had in the house…turned out pretty tasty!!!) Boil the noodles until al dente, and then rinse under cold water. Add tamari, rice vinegar, sesame oil and red pepper flakes to the empty pot, and heat to a boil. Drain the noodles and add to the pot. Stir until liquid has evaporated and coated the noodles. Serve with sesame seeds and green onions (or mint).

This is Udon, my 7 month old male chow chow dog. This is his favourite spot for resting whenever he’s at my boyfriend’s place. He has been getting numerous ear parasites attacks lately so we brought him to the vet for 3 consecutive shots, the last one was this morning, just before I flew back to Singapore. I sure miss him, it’ll be another 5 days before I see him again. /
I love it when Udon lies down like this, he reminds me of a baby seal :D Just that maybe his eyes are not as big as those seals but he’s still cute nevertheless :D
My room, very messy I know :D Udon is looking out to the balcony, enjoying some solitude of his own. On the chair…some ink drawings of Ophelia, just finished taking some shots, not sure if I will be uploading it eventually….will see how…The paintings on the wall….those are my portraits…lovingly painted by my boyfriend who’s an artist as well :D These were painted many years ago….I still sport the same hairstyle but maybe abit chubbier than before :D Hope you enjoy this shot :D
This was taken when Udon was about 2 months old and he already knew he could only do his toilet business in a specific area in the house if he has to do it indoors. Good doggie!! :D /
This’s a shot of Udon when he was 2 months old together with my boyfriend’s schauzer,PooPup. See how playful or aggressive he could be at such a tender age, pinning down a bigger dog! The whites of the photo is the flooring. I did not cut the outlines of the blanket though it may seem to appear to be that way :D
Udon’s asking if I could pack him along with all the other stuff in my suitcase :D

Udon sleeping beside his favourite doll, Estella :D He really has strong affections for her…..maybe she reminds him of a cream colored female chow chow? :D
Many thanks to the hosts of A Beautiful Blur for featuring Always By Your Side:...
Many thanks to the hosts of A Beautiful Blur for featuring Always By Your Side That’s Estella, Udon’s favourite gal in the house :D This is a shot of Udon half asleep. If you look closely, he has his paws over her, now you know how protective he can be of his gal! Udon’s growing fast, he’s now about 25 kg and he has only achieved half of his potential. He has some dental issues….his lower set of teeth is not fully developed and the vet said he’s a late developer. He also has another problem. He has only 1 testicle and nope, the other one has not popped out yet or maybe it will never pop out. He’s still my Baby even though he seems “incomplete” ;D Always By Your Side Here’s some other photos of Udon Do I look like a seal pup? Can you pack me along? Udon’s little washroom Thank you for the all the love and hugs you have showered on Udon, he loves you all!! ^ _ ^
Painted in Corel painter using wacom tablet. Photo used for reference .. Thanks for looking :)) The Chow Chow, or Chow, is a breed of dog that was first developed in Mongolia about 4,000 years ago and was later introduced into China, where it is referred to as Songshi Quan (Pinyin: sōngshī quǎn 鬆獅犬), which literally means “puffy-lion dog.” It is believed that the Chow Chow is one of the native dogs used as the original model for the creation of Chinese guardian lions in ancient China when no one had ever seen a real lion before when stories reached China that Buddhist temples and monasteries in India were being guarded by the traditional stone lions found in front of Buddhist temples and palaces in India. Hearing the stories carried there by Buddhist monks traveling from India the Chinese sculptors modeled statues of Fu or Foo lions, the lions of Buddha after these native dogs and created an icon of an animal never before seen in China, the Chinese guardian lions. / The Chow is a sturdily built dog that is square in profile with broad skull and small, triangular, erect ears that are rounded at the tip. The breed has a very dense double coat that is either smooth or rough. The fur is particularly thick around the neck, giving the distinctive ruff or mane appearance. The coat may be one of five colors including red, black, blue, cinnamon, and cream. Their eyes should be deep set and almond in shape. Chows are distinguished by their unusual blue-black/purple tongue and very straight hind legs, resulting in a rather stilted gait. The bluish color extends to the Chow’s lips, which is the only dog breed with this distinctive bluish appearance in its lips and oral cavity (other dogs have black or a piebald pattern skin in their mouths). One other distinctive feature is their curly tail. It has thick hair and lays curled on its back. Their nose should be black. Any other tone is disqualification for breeding under AKC breed standard. The blue-black/purple tongue gene appears to be dominant. Today the Chow Chow is most commonly kept as a companion dog. Its keen sense of proprietorship over its home paired with a sometimes disconcertingly serious approach to strangers can be off-putting to those unfamiliar with the breed. However, displays of timidity and aggression are uncharacteristic of well-bred and well-socialized specimens. Inexperienced dog owners should beware of how dogs of this breed encounter those it perceives as strangers; their notoriety is so established that many homeowner’s insurance companies will not cover dogs from this breed. The proper Chow owner will be just as willful and stubborn as the Chow they keep, thus weaker-willed individuals would be best served to evaluate their commitment in controlling an animal who is happy to take over any household. Specimens of opposite sex typically co-habitate with less tension than those of the same sex, but it is not unheard of for multiple chows of both sexes to live together peacefully in a home setting. The Chow is extremely loyal to its own family and will bond tightly to its master. The Chow typically shows affection only with those it has bonds to, so new visitors to the home should not press their physical attention upon the resident Chow as it will not immediately accept strangers in the same manner as it does members of its own pack. / Chows are not a particularly active breed. Apartment life can suit this breed, if given enough opportunity for regularly scheduled physical activity each day. The Chow Chow may appear to be independent and aloof for much of the day, keeping a comfortable distance from others while staying within earshot, or preferring to watch for strangers alone by the entrance. Owners still need to be prepared to take a Chow Chow for a brisk daily walk, even if they have a fenced yard, in order to meet the dog’s needs for mental and physical stimulation. While the Chow exhibits low energy for most of the day, it will crave routine time to explore and play to maintain a happy and content disposition. Detail… /
