...love repetition at the best of times, however, finding these extra large scale tyres whilst walking the streets in Franklin, Louisiana was a shot I got so excited about.

Not sure what these things were for, but i can only imagine it was for access to the top of the machines that have been removed from this area since the place closed. I couldnt help but think of aircraft stairs when i saw them though, perhaps brought on by the fact the place we had stayed the night before was directly under a flight path of an airport.

This huge tyre was dumped on the mudflat at Cungulla, QLD, by locals trying to stem the erosive forces of storm-driven waves. I like that the ridges in the tyre mirror the natural ridges in the sand. The pillars here have very distinctive bee striping round them to attract attention, unlike pillars elsewhere on the site. Pillars elsewhere on the site don’t have a four storey tower resting on them though, so i guess they were just scared that someone might drive a forklift or something into these ones and bring the tower down. This place looks like the landing dock on some spaceship to me though, so im pleased they added the colouring, it gives it a nice effect
