A ward full of beds in an abandoned mental asylum.
-
Most of the windows in this place were either cracked, broken or completely removed. It made for some eerie nosies when walking about in the place with the wind rattling through and the curtains flapping about etc.
-
The remainder of a building, partially demolished stands right on the waters edge at an abandoned shipbuilding yard. What were once doors into rooms now lead to a drop where the side of a building has been removed. / / / Have a look through the rest of my portfolio to see more pictures from the abandoned buildings i visit. / / / Or you could view my current set where i explain the process and situations you bump into walking around and taking photos in derelicts, which can be found here / / /

The Grass Really Is Greener…. “The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person’s determination.” – Tommy Lasorda This Work Was Featured In Live, Love, Dream / (Thanks Bamgirl) Winner of the Today’s Best award, June 24th, 2008, at Zazzle / This is a new collaboration work I created inspired by a photo from one of my good friends Paul Hobday better known as Hobbers. The exterior of this old stately home is really quite grand, and i think made by the same architect as the Way to school building due to the presence of many similar features such as the plaque space above the door etc.
-
And for the final shot of this site, a shot of the facade of the building and the small driveway leading up to it. Scotland has quite a few lovely buildings which have been abandoned of them, this is but one of many wonderful treasures the country has.

Twisted was shot in spring 1991 and is one of my favorites, raising air rotates and is shown here in the twist of the clouds.

A very ornate tiled and mosaic corridor in an abandoned mental asylum
-
dont know why, but the varying states of the cisterns and seats on these three toilets reminded me of the three monkeys! Taken in an abandoned mental asylum.
-
These were so lovely that coming at them from any new angle gave you an entirely different shot that you just had to take. Someone had obviously stolen the brass rods as you can see from the carpet being bunched here, but thats so very little to worry about when i think about what they could have done here.

Skele-series #9 (We wouldn’t dare have him catching a real, live fish!)

if only architects could build from blocks of light

A quick view of the outside of the building ,standing tall and defiant against the vandalism and damage that has attacked her inner sanctum. Hopefully one day this place could be recovered and the broken insides replaced, though i doubt it will happen. This place really is a beautiful place, and certainly something i will be making a point of visiting again when i am in the area to cover some of the rooms and locations i didn’t get time for on this occasion.
