  • grandnasty on his wedding day. / just a reminder that marriage is a commitment, not a convenience.

  • This is a portrait of my friend Brady, in his “Mr. I Got “Em” persona. Used to being photographed, he carries on a family tradition in his tuxedo and top hat, selling produce at the Saturday morning Farmers Market in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. A relative preceding him first dressed in this style and sold on the streets down town, calling “Boiled peanuts … I got ‘em!” “Fresh fish … I got ‘em!” thereby becoming the first Mr. I Got ‘Em. I love this particular shot of Brady, looking cool and mysterious standing in the smoke from a nearby grill (where he is cooking corn on the cob and barbecued turkey legs!). To maintain the aspect of romance and mystery about him, I modified and blurred the background and tried to keep him as sharp as I could.

  • Our handsome tuxedo cat Mr. Whisper was thrown out of a car when he was a tiny kitten. We happened to be there to rescue him. He has been with us for 11 yrs.

  • ....... No More Photos! Taken of Felix my youngest boy this afternoon – in his usual spot on the bed – not happy that I had disturbed his nap!!!

  • Purple shop front room with tuxedo mannequin in Xalapa, Mexico. ~ 2007

  • I was walking home from work one summer evening, taking photos of flowers, when this little voice came down to me from the rooftops. This delightful wee cat raced down the roofline to the fencetop to pose (& be petted, of course), she was just a darling!

  • Red rose on a tuxedo shirt.

  • Sage is my Main Coon. We have had him for 5 years now. He’s spoiled rotten, and acts as though he needs to be pampered 24/7 and usually gets what he wants.

  • These two guys were huddled together in the rural highway and would most likely have been hit by the next car going the opposite direction we were. It was an area that my husband and I don’t usually go to anymore, but we were out for an afternoon drive. I guess God sent us there for a reason…... or two. FEATURED in the RESCUED PETS group.

  • Hillary is hiding from me, waiting…waiting… /

  • Syd, a silent film star has risen from the grave.

This photograph captures his bid to freedom and his discovery of the world outside. A tuxedo cat is a bicolor cat with a white and black coat. The derivation of the term tuxedo cat is self-explanatory, as the animal appears to be wearing the type of black tie formal wear commonly known in the United States and Canada as a tuxedo. Most tuxedo cats are also black mask cats, a common name for felines who, due to their facial coloration, look as if they are wearing a black mask over their eyes, and often over their entire head. To be considered a true tuxedo cat, the feline’s coloring should consist of a solid black coat, with white fur limited to the paws, belly, chest, throat, and often the chin, although many tuxedo cats appear to sport goatees, due to the black coloration of their mandible—that is, the lower jaw and chin. In the United Kingdom, the tuxedo cat is sometimes known as the “Jellicle cat”, after the fictional tribe of black and white cats described by T. S. Eliot in Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, which was first published in 1939. In its derivative musical, Cats, the tuxedo cat is exemplified by the character of Mr. Mistoffelees, who is portrayed as a stage magician wearing a lacy ruff and bow tie. The musical differed from the book in that the characters included cats with many different coat colors, rather than just bicolor cats, but it retains the repeated assertion that “Jellicle cats are black and white.” In Britain cats with this pattern are also known as “Post Office” cats from Postman Pat’s “black and white cat” called Jess from the Postman Pat TV series. Cats with these markings also played a starring role in the drawings illustrating The Unadulterated Cat, a book written by Terry Pratchett, with cartoons by Joliffe Gray. MINTY /
