During my most recent shoot with Jillian, She introduced me to an artist who live near me named Red. We talked very briefly about our art. When he asked me about my art I explained it as being about the connection between the human body and nature using the female as the medium through which we make that connection. The response from Jillian shocked me. She said “Just like your art Red”. I checked out his work when I got home and read a few things he had written on the subject of the “Goddess”. I’m now beginning to see some connection between my work, my life, and what I’m calling the “Goddess Energy”. I’m not sure if I can explain it just yet but It seems to make sense. If you’re reading this and have any comments, ideas, or anything to add to this idea I’d love to hear it…

OK…so there is a Reptiles Group, and a Venomous Snakes of the World Group, and I am a member of both of them. But search as I might, I cannot find a group dedicated to Field Herping or wild reptiles and amphibians in North America. This is a passion of mine. I spend countless hours cruising backroads looking for reptiles, and an equal number of hours hiking the meadows, woods, and desert scrublands near my house looking for anything reptilian…and usually finding a slew of lizards and the occasional snake. I’m also the founder of the Eastern Sierra Herpetology Club, and I breed captive colubrids. So…I want to start a North American Field Herping group here on RedBubble. Trouble is…I need a co-host. I know I am not the only N.A. Field Herper on RB…but I don’t know who you are, so please…if you are interested in co-hosting this group with me, let me know. Before any applications or anything are submitted, we can discuss rules and guidelines for the group and the submissions, and generally get a plan of action to get the group going. Anyhow…Thanks for at least taking the time to read this. And seriously…if this interests you…let me know…Heck, even if you know someone that you think MIGHT be interested, let them know to contact me. This is important to me… Chris

There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me. / What in the world do leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won’t come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas? This week, I found out: From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember. The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ. / Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments. / Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love. / The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. / The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament. / The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation. / Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit-Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy. / The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes. / Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit-Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control. / The ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments. / The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples. / The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles’ Creed. So there is your history for today. This knowledge was shared with me and I found it interesting and enlightening and now I know how that strange song became a Christmas Carol…so pass it on if you wish.’
