This shot was taken on the streets of Paris (yes a lot of my images are from my trip, I just saw too many beautiful things not to share). In this shot the Cherub seems to be alone or lost, and the falling drops from the fountain above I thought were like Angel Tears, tears for the little one they couldn’t find.
©2004 Sara Montour I haven’t uploaded a lot of new photos lately. I’m super busy, but I definitely miss the RedBubble community and am hoping to be more involved. Fridays are a relatively slow day for me, so perhaps that will be my RedBubble day. I took this photo in 2004 when I lived in Ireland. We spent the day by the beach and were very ready to head back home. We finally got all the way back to the car and I saw this little toy and said “hold on! We can’t leave yet! I have an idea!” I ran back to the beach and took this shot and several others.

It is absolutely important not to ignore your tree when you go out if you are a turtle! If necessary, take it with you. All miniature bonsai turtle trees enjoy a good swim. Not only is the marine environment excellent for their sodiumphylic leaves, but the very fact of being taken to new and interesting places causes them to bear strange fruit.

I was lucky enough to spend nearly an hour swimming alongside this juvenille green turtle (Chelonia mydas) on the fringing reef at Lady Elliott Island in the Southern part of the Great Barrier Reef. Lady Elliott is a beautiful island that is home to a wide variety of marine life and seabirds. Best of all the resort is reasonably priced fairly basic accommodation unlike most of the rest of the island resorts in the GBR. If you get the chance then Lady Elliott is well worth the trip. During my week long visit I would have seen more than >10 green turtles, hatchlings on the beach, sharks, rays, gourpers and a myriad of other reef fish. The coral reef on the other side of the island is spactacular with huge plate (Acropora sp.) corals everywhere. It is truly magic.

Sometimes it is better to be lucky than to be good. I did position myself to silhouette the turtle against the sun, but it was pure luck that my initial large exhalation bubble got between me and the turtle and picked up the animal’s reflection. This was shot at Darwin Island in the Galapagos, May, 2007.
Another one. This time it is a turtle. Turtles’ lives are long, and they are always sleepy and tired somehow. Old people seen many things and many of them are bitter about life and the world. It’s a fusion. Enjoy.
