  • Eat me eat me fun in the spa

  • I stumbled upon this one while visiting my brother in Va. They were all lined up on the rock as if the Cormorant was teaching the Turtles how to fish… One of my favs. Enjoy.

  • Macro of an underwater turtle shell with algae blooms all over it. Guppies are present in the picture as well. Canvas print… /

  • Close up of a turtle. You can clearly see the nature given camouflage. The turtle is staring with one eye to the camara, the other one is closed and the turtle offers the yellow “spare eye” to cheat you. Pic taken in the Zoo in La Garita, Costa Rica

  • This was taken in Queens Park animal park in Ipswich Queensland of a turtle.

  • Bardi ‘Saltwater’ people at England’s most famous sacred site Stonehenge: Photo: © Julian Andrews. Goorlil is a word used by the Bardi ‘Saltwater’ people meaning turtle. The Bardi people are from the Dampier Peninsula situated around 200 kilometres north-east of Broome, Western Australia. They are coastal people who have looked to the land, open waters, tidal flats and mangrove creeks for thousands of years for food, law and traditions. Even to this day Bardi people continue to practice their culture and to live this way of life. • This is a picture of a sea turtle taken at the Atlanta Aquarium! / Thanks so much for looking…all comments are welcome and appreciated!! Have a great weekend!! :) / /

  • We were having lunch in Santa Barbara, CA, and they had an outdoor fountain with Koi and turtles in it. I liked this, because of the water’s distortion of the turtle and the fish…

  • Florida soft shell turtle

  • Probably a type of snapping turtle that came right up to the surface of the water near me. He had some pretty neat markings. This was a smaller and younger one than the one that I earlier have called “King” of the pond or lake. /

  • Found this snapping turtle out on the bank of the pond scratching the earth and grass back with its flippers-so I thought it must be a mother to be about to lay eggs! You artist-scientists out there-let me know if they lay their eggs on dry land or if my theory on this was wrong. I have never seen a snapping turtle anywhere but in the water. They don’t even perch on logs or rocks the way the other turtles do, at least from what I have observed.

  • I think this is the name of this lovely, basking beauty. You can see the way he/she is stretched up to sun. His legs are outstretched as his in neck.

  • ... captured at a suburban lake in Abbotsford, B.C., Canada, these turtles enjoyed sunning themselves on the log and would vie for position by climbing on top of one another.

  • Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. No editing.

  • LOOK at the bottom right of the picture. Is is a reflection of a person from the glass? I’m not sure.

  • The rock changes as I move the lens closer or further away. At this distance I “saw/see” a turtle. If you look at “The Subtle Nature of Rocks”, this same rock changes (we are looking from further away) and looks more like “a serpents head”. Both are beautiful images to me, both are creatures I treasure and am delighted to see for “real” or in symbolism.
