This is one of the many turtles that come up from our tank. It desided to rest in my flower bed, along while a little “friend” desided to hitch a ride on the turtle. I never noticed the very small green bug, until I looked further at the picture itself. How neat! I couln’t believe the turtle actually let me take it’s picture…with out taking it’s head all the way in. Notice the moss as well on the turtle’s shell. This is the biggest one I’ve seen come thru our yard, and we see A LOT of them! Maybe I’ll get some shots of their babies this year. We’ve had several lay eggs, or looks like they have, around our yard. We’ll see. Oh my goodness…this card is too cute! /

Hey !! shes clapping her back feet at me !!! There was a huge amount of wild turtles and fishes living in the pond at the end of the hotel terrain , at the end of the day the water would change to all kind of great colors with variations of dark greens, black, brown, red and orange, I could look at them until the sun was all gone they where fascinating and relaxing. We stayed for our 2 weeks vacation in Las Galeras Beach Samana Peninsula Dominican Rep. and we loved it… / Capture taken as i, hand held, with camera HP R927
We were enjoying the afternoon at a nearby park and a young boy found this little baby turtle and gave it to my daughter. We went ahead and took it home. On the way home she named her turtle "Shelly". I set up an aquarium for it and we tried everything we could to feed it but after 4 days of not eating I told my little girl that it would be best if we took Shelly back to her home so she would live. My daughter wasnt upset at all. She wanted her turtle to live and by happy. So hopefully Shelly settled back into her original environment and is living happily ever after. / I believe Shelly is a Western Painted Turtle but I could be wrong. D90 / Sigma 150mm lens

Vue render, no postwork. Using Gendragon’s Basichill01 prop. Had lots of fun working out the procedural texturing of the hill prop, but I think it came ok in the end. Full view here

I call this bridge Turtle Bridge because of the hundreds of turtles that reside in the water it spans. I don’t really think it has an official name. This was originally a photo, and the light hitting the center of the bridge was gorgeous and warm – although the rest of the photo was ok at best. I tried several angles and POVs but before I got the perfect shot the light was gone. I edited it in CS3 to help convey how beautiful it actually was – despite my ineptitude at operating the camera quickly enough to capture it as I saw it.
