‘grassseeds’ is an image taken ‘through’ the viewfinder of a kodak duaflex 620 film camera using a digital camera. / This technique has become popular recently on the flickr photo sharing site in the throughtheviewfinder group. It uses mostly old twinlens cameras available since the 1950’s and 1960’s and creates a square format image with a ‘nostalgic’ and ‘vintage’ feel. Residue from dust and grime in the old camera, and a certain amount of blurriness is what makes these images appear charming. Most TTV images have a black frame around the edges, unless heavily cropped. / I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy taking them. many more are available : feel free to email me / http://www.flickr.com/photos/lolacatz/sets/72057594057947427/ many more are available

Ttv photograph using Canon 40D 100mm macro through a Kodak Duaflex III.
A tribute to my beloved vintage camera and fellow TTV lovers. I often wonder where has she been? what has she seen? in whose hands? and through whose eyes? I love giving another life to this wonderful, simple, solid, stylish camera. Best viewed LARGE Here’s a more detailed view of the halftone. /

The letter is from an old HOYTS cinema used to spell out the latest feature film on the backlit sign. TTV image using my Canon IXUS 80IS through my old RICOH KR-5Super II. I thought the process somehow suited the film origins of the subject. Great to have my work appreciated.
Dark cities always inspire me, it creates an artifical landscape that tells such a story I can’t resist to picture it.

Not that starfish are fast movers, but taking a Ttv photo sometimes can prove sluggish for me. I didn’t notice the other starfish’s arm reaching into the photo until I uploaded this onto my computer. I absolutely love it more now than the image I thought I had initially captured. I believe all living things have hearts that beat with emotions. Photograph taken in Canterbury, Kent, earlier this year. Canon EOS 450D. Layered with textures from here and here. I also used a texture of my own, which may be downloaded for use from here
Said with a note of irony! :) I shot this down at Gentleman’s Walk, Norwich this morning, around 9 a.m. We wanted to get out and take some pictures before hordes of shoppers descended on the city… with christmas just around the corner it had of course already begun… Canon EOS 450D, Sigma 50 mm 1:2.8 DG Macro lens and Kodak Duaflex. Digitally cross-processed using curves adjustments.
I’ve wanted to take a shot of playing cards for a long time, and decided to get it together last night. As my contraption is practically impossible to hold facing down, I had to stick some cards together with tape, lean them against my wall, and put the contraption to use with my viewfinder and DSLR. Layered the original shot three times, desaturated colour, increased contrast and added several filters in orange, yellow and sepia, desaturating a little each time.
