This is the Bonaventure Cemetary located in Savannah, Georgia. It was made famous by the book/movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The statue of the bird girl on the book’s cover went unnoticed for over 50 years until that point and became such a tourist attraction it had to be moved to a museum. Johnny Mercer, a popular American songwriter and singer, is burried here as well as Conrad Aiken, a famous writer of poetry, short fiction, and novels. The most famous sight in Rockport, MA is a wooden fishermans shack on the town wharf known as Motif #1. The trademark of the costal town is said to be one of the most photographed buildings in the country. It was originally constructed in 1884 and destroyed during the blizzard of 1978. Watch the men who rode you, / Switch from sails to steam. / And in your belly you hold the treasure / that few have ever seen, most of them dreams, / Most of them dreams. Yes, I am a pirate two hundred years too late. / The cannons don’t thunder there’s nothin’ to plunder / I’m an over forty victim of fate / Arriving too late, arriving too late. If I could sum this up in one perfect word, it would be Ragadellic. Don’t you think? I guess one of my guilty pleasures are Chuck T’s. You just can’t get a more perfect shoe. This is the Converse Generation as they say. / Everyone takes photos of Allstars, I know, but they are a good subject, so why not?
