  • This was taken in the summer of 2007 at a favorite spot of mine at Jones Valley on Shasta Lake, CA, about 16 miles north east of Redding, CA….It was a perfect day and the light was very cooperative with me and my camera…..this has become one of my favorite places to just kick back and relax….and the fishing is not bad, an added plus. Common species most often caught here are Bass, Crappie, and Trout. It is also well known for camping, hiking and boating. / __ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. • This is from a trip we took to see my sister .. we were on the road and this called to us ..it had a very fast river coming out of it which crashed downstream for miles. The light was hitting the side of the mountains in spots. Its been a long time ago but the views in this state are amazing. Scanned from 35mm Slide. A Nice Place For The Wall

  • this dwarfed sized lily only grows about 6-7 inches tall, it is native to the great smoky mountains, i had to lay on the ground shooting this macro in order to show the inside of it, shot this macro using a nikon diopter lens attached to a canon 75-300mm lens

  • On the hill above the River Derby at Derby in the North-East of Tasmania, these rocks have been used by an artist to create a graffiti image of a trout, suitably apt as the river is great for trout fishing!! / /

  • one of the many sites you will see coming thru the great smoky mountains. trout fishing. couldnt have asked for better timing, having a fisherman set in the right gear, the water, and lighting. / i shot this in black and white, it has not been converted , and yes i do have color, that will be uploaded later, but i wanted something different ;), and this was shot with my new 17-85mm lens :) i love it already :):)

  • trout fishing is a huge thing to do in the great smoky mountains. this fly fisherman had on the perfect gear of what one would think of when thinking of fly fishing. the rain started coming down lightly, and i did get a few shots of him fishing in the rain in BW also :)

  • A pair of Peacock Rock Cod with anemones.

  • Funky purple trout fish and spirals with a central triskele and border of Celtic waves. Prismacolor colored pencils and markers.

  • I shot this earlier this morning 10/18/08 on the Jones Valley arm of Shasta Lake about16 miles North East of Redding, CA . The lake is an alarming wake up call to conserve water as the bank you are seeing in this image is usually under water. We have had and are still in a drought here in Northern CA; the lake level was down 150 plus feet from the crest last time I caught the news…..a few days ago. Many fishermen lost their set-ups on these trees while they were still under water…....we drove for several miles beyond where the normal boat ramp would be…..fishermen are putting boats in the lake using a dirt boat ramp now…......the third boat ramp since the drought began. Shasta Lake is well known around the world for it’s recreation uses including boating, camping, and fishing. Some of the species more dominant are Bass, Crappie and Trout. / / ____ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. • Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) – watercolor filter and fractalius filter treatment

  • An Autumn scene on Jacob’s Fork River in South Mountain State Park , North Carolina. There is a lovely walking trail along this river which is surrounded by rhododendrum thickets. It is also a popular destination for trout fishing enthusiasts.

  • There is something surreptitious going on in language. At least the one I follow. It seems to me that somewhere in the world of words the juvenile troublemakers at the back of the class find ways to amuse themselves at our expense. They do a good job of blending in. They hide in broad daylight, looking you straight in the face while making lewd jokes and snickering about it. They’re very clever. The problem is we’re not immune to their games. The subliminal effect they may be having on us has me a little worried. Sometimes I find myself giggling along with them. This can’t be good! In hopes of preventing further moral decline I’ve begun documenting them. Please use the following photographs as a way to make yourself aware of how they’re taunting you. Together we can stop being the victims of their childish pranks. (All but one shot are edited entirely in-camera. No ‘cropping’ has been done. This practice of word collection has been an obsession of mine since before pixel manipulation became so popular. Slight and occasional brightness, contrast and saturation tweaking may have been done.)

  • The Popo Agie River near Lander, Wy, disappears dramatically into a cavern, runs underground for one quarter of a mile, and then reappears in a picturesque, calm pool called “The Rise”. This water is teeming with huge hungry trout… sorry, no fishing, but there is fish food available if you have change in your pocket… and provides a stunning mirror for the fall color in September.
