  • Their life is so simple..perhaps not like all of us / no prosperity nor luxury / no fancy clothes and a fancy bathroom / or fancy cars and a fancy office / fancy house with a fancy kitchen / but they have freedom that none of us has ever known / and they have a nature that none of us ever can compare with / our beautiful garden at home / and they are filled with joy and hope in all circumstances / so if we ever think that we are richer then them..we better think twice!!! • Pouring rain forced us off the beach at Direction Island and into the shelter of the forest. Our senses were buzzing with the sound of rain and waves, the rich saturated colours and the scent of summer rain. / Direction Island is a much-loved anchorage for yachties, cocos locals and visitors, but no one lives there permanently. We shared it with about 10 people on this particular day. For enquires about canvas prints, or photographic prints larger than Redbubble options, please contact me via bubblemail

  • Blue Man has discovered the Lost Valley of the Laughing Gods, who have visited this place very long ago and spread their message of peace, good humor, and the journey of the soul far beyond a single lifetime, and they instilled in the locals the duty to maintain these teachings and keep the temple safe…

  • Digital Painting A bit of whimsey here as an abstract resembled tropical fish to me so I went with it.

  • This ones for you J… ~ One of the many beautiful birds to be seen on that world tour adventure… The Macaw can reach 76-86 cm (29.9-33.9 inches) long and weigh 900 to 1300 g (2-3 lbs), making it one of the biggest parrots in the world. It is vivid in appearance with blue wings and tail, dark blue chin, golden under parts and a green forehead. Its beak is black, and very strong for crushing nuts. The naked face is white, turning pink in excited birds, and lined with small black feathers. There is little variation in plumage across the range. Some birds have a more orangey or “butterscotch” underside color, particularly on the breast. This was often seen in Trinidad birds and others of the Caribbean area, and appears to be due to environmental factors.[citation needed] The Blue-and-yellow Macaw uses its powerful beak for breaking nutshells, and also for climbing up and hanging from trees. • On the second day we were in Punta Cana, a storm rolled in and eventually turned the horizon black. This was taken about an hour before but the warning of wind, rain and darkness were already present in the early afternoon. Nikon D40, 18-55mm lens / Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, February 2009 “Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm”~Unknown Featured in the Outsiders group April 2009 / Featured in the Image/Writing group, March 2009

  • Rockhopper This species of penguin occurs in subantarctic waters of the western Pacific and Indian Oceans, as well as around the southern coasts of South America. The Southern Rockhopper Penguin is classified as Vulnerable species by the IUCN. Its population has declined by about one-third in the last thirty years. Their common name refers to the fact that unlike many other penguins which negotiate obstacles by sliding on their bellies or by awkward climbing using their flipper-like wings as aid, Rockhoppers will try to jump over boulders and across cracks.

Its long pointed bracts arch with a particularly pleasing curvature. Its fan shaped clumps, up to 12 feet high, thrive as well in Hawai’i as in its native Costa Rica and Panama. Full sun, ample water, warm air, high humidity, and good soil are all it needs. However, in blooming season, March to May, is short; current research is aimed at expanding its period of availability. Rainbow heliconia resembles giant lobster claw. However, its unopened bracts form a jagged herringbone pattern, its “cheeks” are smaller and its yellow colouration is greenish rather than bright.”: Text quote from the book titled Exotic Tropicals of Hawai’i by Angela K. Kepler It is a beautiful greeting card. We have many varieties of Heliconia blooming on Maui. If you are interested in a particular variety or colour simply drop me a note and let me know. Mahalo!
