The thunderstorm in this photograph was taken on the top-end wetlands late in the build up season…only weeks before this area was a dustbowl, yet weeks later it becomes a floodplain ! been reading about tribal child raising and the benefits, and we know I like birds… I began this art as abstract patterns, bubbles of pattern that transformed when I realised by putting a ‘fork in the road’ to the concentric circles, that I created an eye and beak. Before that, it could’ve been shown either way up. also, it transformed from earthy brown colours, to a colourful bird. ‘Is it art? ‘my teacher used to always question. He’s not here now. He’s just asking the question still! in my head! I like it-it’s bright, colouful and alive.
