On September the 19th /2007/I turned on the radio/opened my laptop/listened to the news and this image resulted. Burma / On September 19th/ 2007/it is thought that possibly 2000 or so monks were part of a protest march and demonstration in the city of Sittwe. / 28th September:The internet access was cut and warning given to journalists 6th October:Internet access was restored for a period. Dear Bill, I can’t begin to tell you how pleased I was to hear that all the harassment finally paid off, and you’ve decided to drag your sorry arse over here! I realise that the prospect of spending months at sea isn’t a pleasant one, but believe me you will forget any hardship you ever had to endure the very second you set foot in this glorious land of goodness and beauty. As I write, the sky above me is suffused with warmth and every colour imaginable and my mind looks eagerly forward to a restful sleep and another day’s sport. Think of it Bill, it’ll be just like the old days..you and I side by side, brothers in arms once again, only this time, there’ll be no bugger firing back at us. Speaking of sport old friend, I’m reminded by The Dear One to inform you that her young cousin Madeline has also written, telling of her intention to take to the water and sample life here at the camp. It appears (would you believe?), that she is expected to arrive shortly after your good self, so may I suggest you pack your finest attire along with your ammo and with any luck, in amongst the quarry, you may just find that you bagged yourself a particularly beautiful specimen! In 1931, a Rolls Royce engined, Supermarine S6B racing seaplane, piloted by Flt Lt Boothman, won the Schneider Trophy outright for Great Britain. / Reginald Mitchell, designer of the legendary Spitfire, designed the S6B. / The race took place round The Solent. I entered an old house in Portfairy, number 83 Bank street, and discovered a box of trophies. There were many more trophies like these ones here, and from looking at this, the owner appears to be an excelling athelete(s) too. Considering how special they must have been too him or them, it’s difficult to comprehend that they were just left behind.

I won my first trophy a week ago. In a local camera club comp, I was the Small Print Winner! Yay! Got a big trophy to keep for a year and a smaller one I get to keep forever. A little bit of a thrill. Additionally, my husband and I did a photography job last week for a hairdresser entering a Redkin Hair Colour competition. She was very happy with the job we did and raved about how wonderful the images were. A friend of hers was also entering the competition and had already had her photos done, but upon seeing ours, has decided to re-shoot her model with us doing the job. It is a great feeling that we’ve made the client happy and received more work from it. A pretty good couple of weeks. :) Beth The image I won the trophy for: Perry Wave
