What seemed like a whimsical voice / was making its way into my ear / I struggled intensely to understand / however, it was fuzzy and not very clear Were there conversations flowing / or was it a singular sound / For it seemed to be just me alone / with no one else around At times I felt uproariously giddy / With my heart pounding beat after beat / Then without warning it would abruptly halt / leaving me suspended in utter defeat What had started as a whisper / had quickly turned into a roar / Leaving me grabbing onto the walls / and then throwing me to the floor Who were these voices in my head / And why had they come / Were they talking to someone else as well / Or was I the only one I yelled out loud stop stop please / I was yelling at what I could not see / Then suddenly all got quiet as did my heart / For I realized the voices were coming from me / ................................................................................ ‘Private Lives’ Series /
