  • Dead Man's Pond
    by Kevin Kroeker

    US$6.65–US$152.00

A morbid history of St. John’s… the hill in the background is known as Gibbets Hil, it is where all the criminals were hung in public executions. The body of water at the base of the hill is where the executioner would throw the bodies when they were dead. The pond is known as “Dead Man’s Pond”. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

  • Ok… so I decided to work on an abstract I am more comfortable with. Unlike my last entry this is a representational abstract, acrylic on canvas, size is approx / 78cm x 62cm. Enjoy, smile and leave your feedback. Oh, one last thing, the detail of paint layering is totally lost in this digital image, but isn’t it always? Carms. x

  • Rejigging an old image. It seems to make more sense now, or to me anyway. I think its pretty self explanitory. CathieT inspired this one a while back with the title, i played around with all things judge and court like…but couldnt sort it and ended up with this. Its quite apt right now here in victoria with Tony Mokbel. / Enjoy! Kill your TV!

  • A Symbolic Journey
    by Unseen

    US$4.99–US$114.00

A journey is a symbol of transition, change or evolution which is expressed in countless myths and legends where a hero undertakes a journey beset with physical and moral trials. In psychology a journey may symbolise the quest for self-discovery. To my sister with thanks for all her support, care and love. • lichen drop 1
    by Lenny La Rue, IPA

    US$5.82–US$133.00

I said I’d get the hang of using the 10X magnifying lens after my tiny frog shots showed only a tiny dot of sharp focus in the centre of the focal point. I also said I get a drop of water as clear as humanly possible and top ‘sno-globe’. Honestly, I thought I had it with the shot of the drop coming out of its own icy base, part of this same shoot. But I think I better captured what I was really hoping for with ‘lichen drop 1’. Please let me know what you think (as if you wouldn’t! LOL!) and if it’s not worthy of my patting myself on the back, I’ll pat harder & lower and try again. :-D Taken at Cathy’s home in the forested area immediately beyond her back field (Penn Valley, CA), this photograph is of the tip of an oak tree with the moisture the night’s fog left behind. The lichen seem to thrive in the winter frost and dampness so the colours here are from very happy lichen the the tree branch. The camera was focused by physically moving my body and the camera into the point of focus within the drop. Between the slight breeze, my own breathing, my heartbeat, pressing the shutter release, and finally going with the timer but the shutter itself opening tossed the focus! Setting the tripod was an exercise in frustration because tightening any plane caused the composition to change. And the ultimate insult was having the shot completely set up and I bumped a neighbouring branch, causing the location I’d fought to shoot to bump into the lens and cream the drop. Arrrghhh!!!! Finding a new location and this drop was like a dream – the worst nightmare possible. I was FREEZING but still wearing gloves, a ski jacket, a sweatshirt, AND a t-shirt. I could do everything with the gloves on but the camera could be less than 1mm off and everything sucked. In the end I got the shot without the tripod, without bracketing, without fighting the wind, my body, or the rest of the tree. I set the camera, pressed the button, and let it shoot until the buffer filled about 5 times, praying I’d get at least a couple good ones. Of about 50 shots only this one is in focus to this degree. Well, God gave me one so I’d better not complain about it, ya know? ;-) The Naughty and the Nice / ___________ / Nikon D80 / NIkkor 18-55 “kit” lens / F-stop: 5.6 / Exposure: 1/15 / Focal length: 48mm / Metering mode: spot / full manual mode / creative settings: flat / January 3rd, 2009 ** / And this piece was featured in: *Macro Water Photographic Gallery with my deep gratitude! • a trial wi nae justice
    by joak

    US$3.99–US$45.60

this shot was taken in westminster hall england, where edward1 of that country held the farcical trial of sir william wallace. england considered wallace an outlaw and so was given no rights ,no lawyer, and could not even speak on his own behalf. wallaces fate was assured long before he was taken to england.edward who created the barrister system still used today did not give sir william a barrister to speak and the trial was a complete farce and mockery wallace only managed to speak once when he roared the famous lines i can not be a traitor, for i owe him no allegiance. he is not my sovereign;he never recieved my homage;and while i have life in this persecuted body,he shall never recieve it! wallace was immediatley dragged by two horses 4 miles to smithfield where he was hanged but not yet dead.while still alive his intestines were removed and burned before him after more torture he was beheaded and his body quartered and sent to 4 parts o scotland as a warning. / what has this got to do with my shot. well in 2005 the anniversary of his murder 300 of us went to london starting at westminster where this was taken, there is a plack on the floor where wallace stood and the window behind me was exactly as it was in wallaces day its what he would have been looking at as the farce unfolded in front of him. you will see i had a large hand and a half sword on, many of the guys did ..no one has been allowed to were weapons in there but there was not enough folk tae stop us as the press were there and no one from westminster wanted a stushie! ..we walked the four miles fully armed tae smithfield where he was butchered and had a celtic celebration of his life, got tae say london was a bit shocked there is a wee church just next tae smithfield that was there in wallaces day and they must have watched whit wis goin on when he was murdered. in the church there was a coffin where people could put in something that ment a lot to them about wallace and scotland the coffin was returned tae scotland and buried in lanark…it was quite a day

This piece is in HONOR of my Amazing Son Caleb The Mighty. His brilliant intellect gives me Great Joy--and Challenge—he looks deep into everything his path leads him to. Caleb has risen above many fiery trials already in his young life and faces each new one with wondrous strength of heart and mind. His honest pilgrimage toward enlightenment challenges everyone who crosses his beautiful pathway. His camera has been his side-kick of late, and I marvel at his creative visions captured for me to ponder and enjoy. Please go see him here on RB and also enjoy his most excellent photos—-and his luminous writings. http://www.redbubble.com/people/calebcrum I look forward with welling pride and knowing humility to see where this Mighty Man will leave his footprints. We named him Caleb which means “Mighty Warrior” *be careful what you ask for! LOL! He has always questioned and resisted quick, trite, and brainless answers--herein lies his rise. Challenge on my Mighty Son—dare to stand alone for the right! Right Fears NO MIGHT! / With All of My Love and Thanks, / Caleb’s Daddy I created this piece using many layers of my own original photos
