These ocean going fish come into bays and river mouths as juveniles, where there is greater safety from large ocean going predators.
A large ocean going species of fish. This one has come into a river mouth to be cleaned by the school of Old Wife’s ariound it. Although the behaviour of small fish picking parasites of large fish is most associated with cleaner wrasse, many other species also do it.

A young port jackson shark (harmless shellfish eater, no danger to humans) rests on a sandy sea floor. This species has a poisonous spine in front of each dorsal (top) fin, to help defend itself from larger predators. Endemic to Australia.
Pair of cuttlefish. Taken on a night dive at Port Stephens, NSW, Australia. Cuttlefish change colour/pattern to communicate, camoflauge themselves and intimidate predators. These two are using two different patterns.

This shot was taken about 50 metres off the shore of Lady Elliot Island, the very Southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef, in 12 metres of water at a place called the Second Reef

Different species working together… it doesn’t mean they are friends, it just means getting the best from each other… It means thinking big. Inspiration has always been there… It will always be there, until its last breath, or perhaps until we allow them… only time will tell. I like to think big, don’t you?
