This old Barn is North West of Swift Current Saskatchewan on the edge of a small town probably part of the the old town / the roof was in tack until this summers winds were unkind to it / and rearranged it some what / Taken with Olympus E510 -14-42 Zuiko lens / AE bracketing +3-0-3 iso 100 / Photomatix 3 and lightroom 2 processing

My first attempt at a HDR image. Not a true one in the sense that i took multiple exposure shots… i made different exposure shots with my RAW converter…then put together with photomatrix… Was good fun! Not sure it is right but i think it looks ok???

Those that know me well know that i was shattered when Craig’s hut burnt down in the 2006/2007 bush fires. I have loved “The Man from Snowy River” since i was a little girl and it had always been a dream of mine to one day see Craig’s hut in the flesh… then it was ravished by fire last year… well they have rebuilt it and thatks to our wonderful friend whom we stay with in Bonnie Doon, he took me and my family up there, knowing how much it would mean to me… / I will be returning here as i have fallen in love with the High country!

The Earth Goddess is my piece, “Mother Earth” altered in ps. eventually will become “Gaia The Earth Goddess” which is currently a painting in progress (really big one, so its taking some time! :) edited to add, painting is finished! can be seen Here hope you enjoy. / the Earth Goddess, Gaia was the second of the primeval gods to emerge at the creation of the universe. The first being Khaos (the lower atsmosphere air and winds), / Gaia was followed in quick succession by Tartaros (the Underworld) and Eros (Love the life-bringer). She was the great mother of all : the heavenly gods were descended from her union with Ouranos (the sky), the sea-gods from her union with Pontos (the sea), the Gigantes from her mating with Tartaros (the hell-pit) and mortal creatures were born from her earthy flesh. Published in JPGmag Issue #19 under the Delectable theme. FEATURED in Mood & Ambience and in Nirvana March 2009. —— This image can be enjoyed both horizontally or vertically. Turn your head to see how the vertical version looks, ha ha! This is part of my baby corn series, inspired by one marketing trip when I bought some whole baby corn and was surprised to find such long “hair” – officially called cornsilk. It was my first – and one of my very few – attempts at so called “real” still life photography, where I purposely set up the image and adjust the lighting. (Most of my other “still life” are captured as is, and I call them “candid still life”.) The set up was simple. I used a black t-shirt for the background of this image and, in another, a brown envelope. As I do not own any studio lighting, I used the natural sunlight coming in from the window. This was in the 1990s when I lived in a corner apartment that faced North-east and had the morning sun coming in from a side window. Unfortunately, I no longer enjoy this luxury. My current apartment faces South and it is sandwiched between two others, so there are no side windows anyway :-( The result may not be as brilliant as “regular” still life done with professional studio lighting. But I prefer the sunlight. And although these images were done about 15 years ago, some of my friends still remember them. In particular, one who is generally not generous with his compliments just commented the other day that he thinks this series is good. I think so too ;-)

This billabong is on the walking track to Lake Elizabeth Otway Ranges,formed after a landslide. / The walk to Lake Elizabeth near Forrest is one of the best rain forest and fern walks to be enjoyed in the Otway Ranges.

Our Beautiful Bella resting under the Christmas Tree with her favourite toys. Who would have thought that just over a week ago she was so ill we thought we might lose her. Our thanks to the skill of the Vet who operated to remove her tumor and to all the wonderful family and friends who wished her well. I’m certain that the power of positive thought has helped her overcome her illness. This is the best Christmas present anyone could have given us – every extra day we have with her is a bonus beyond words. I have written a journal entry with an update on Bella’s progress and to say a huge Thank You to everyone here on Redbubble who sent prayers and good wishes for her recovery! xxx
