  • I took this when I went trekking for gorillas in the volcanos of Rwanda. On the border of D.R. Congo & Uganda. These gorillas were around 7 metres from us – and would have been closer if we hadn’t stepped back (you’re only allowed to be as close as 7 metres). We just hung around and watched the family for an hour. It was pretty cool. My profile /       /       /

  • Oils on linen painting of elephants trekking across the Namib Desert on their annual migration to the Etosha Pans. They are tired, hungry and thirsty – and who knows how many family members they have lost along the way. When they reach Etosha, in time for the flooding, these elephants swim and play like children, happy to have the blessing of water. Elephants are once again vulnerable. The ivory trade will lead to the slaughter of these magnificent and very clever animals. Their family ties and compassion for one another is evident for anyone who watches and follows the herds. Donations from the sale of this painting will be used for anti-poaching conservation organisations.
