One of many frozen Willow trees lining the edge of Lake Wanaka, waiting for the dawn’s first light to warm them for a new day. At first I was disappointed not being able to see the lake and the mountains due to the heavy fog on the water. That soon changed!

This is a TTV image of a Willow tree in the Japanese Garden in Portland, Oregon. This was taken using my 35mm digital camera through the view finder of my antique Argus 75 medium format camera. It has been enhanced in Photoshop to give it that “wispy” quality.
This is a row of willows that is not more than a 100 mt. far from my house, in the country side near to Scalenghe in Piedmont, Italy. / I took this on a very early morning last november, 30 minutes after sunrise, while a thick fog was coming around, quickly obscuring the entire scene in just five minutes. Hope you enjoy it, thanks for viewing. Paolo

By: DALE CRUM Oh, if humans only knew what trees know. / History has walked--loved-and killed / Around them-under them-and in them / Oh, if we could plug headphones into a knot / Oh, if we could sit in their shade and listen—not talk / Oh, how feeble and foolish is this creature called man / They do whisper in the quiet morning breeze / They do show the brevity of man in autumn / In the transition from life unto death / The glory and splendor of that next life / For in their passing, the leaves become most radiant / They raise their voices in hues of flame and passion / Then sling them to the whim of the winter winds / Burial mounds do gather beneath their feet / Man only sees the toil of the raking / By storm do the trees warn by tapping windows / By beating on roofs / By crashing onto cars / By ripping down the wires of lightening / The trees do not always whisper / Perhaps wisdom would be to listen more closely / That they not be compelled to raise their voices? / DC This one has my own eye in it. I drew the tear in by hand—it was really tricky to make it look real. I created this using only my own original photos. Another image from the late night shoot near Mannum South Australia. Just love the River Murray and the starkness of the willow trees lining the banks in this spot create wonderful silhouettes at last light. Thanks to Dave and River Rat from Mannum (mannum Motel) for their support in joining me on these repeat visits to this magical little strip of the river. Canon 400D, CIR polarising filter. 18-55 lens.
Weeping Willow. This is my favourite willow tree which stands at the side of Huntingdon River which is a town in Cambridgeshire, i changed this to black and white and added a soft focus effect, i cropped the image slightly and adjusted the light as it was a cloudy day..Taken Dec 2008 – Sony Cybershot 10.1mp /
A magical setting among the fog and mist on a cold day in January . This photo was taken in Nampa, Idaho I used an Olympus 55OUZ camera on auto setting
9×12 pastel on black Colorfix paper I am always amazed by how the most beautiful and exotic places on the planet are also the most dangerous for humans. I often try to portray this idea in the faeries that I draw. This little faerie is just that, beautiful and exotic, and yet has a look of warning in her eyes.

We were racing the clock to try get to Port Arthur by sunset, and there was just too many bends, and slow trucks… However, this beautiful scene popped up, and we were only 10 mins from the site, I had to make a decision… I’m glad I stopped, turns out, the site was closed anyhow, and I got this shot of some weeping willows, and still water pools. 5 mins allong what seems to be an un-named side street, I think it was private property too, but not signed.. Tasman Peninsula, Tasmania, Australia. Canon 50D, 10mm. Available large and best viewed large!!
