A composite of three photos (stacked ontop of each other) and selective colourization used (the top part is Black and White to emphasize size LOL I HOPE). Taken in the Porongurup National Park, a little North of Albany, Western Australia. For those who have been there …. the Tree in the Rock is just to the left out of shot :)

Agate Bridge, the well-known geological wonder of a 225 million-year-old petrified log spanning a sandstone wash. A chunk of the eroded sandstone still remains connected to the underside of this ancient fossil. Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona.

Last gasp of a Pine Tree in the Wilderness
Captured this evening under a setting sun. The light was quite golden originally but I decided to expand upon it.
Windmill in remote West Texas. I wanted to represent this windmill in a different way, that’s why the view is through the trees, a different perspective.
Pemberton, Western Australia This is a shot from the base of “The Gloucester Tree”- a giant Karri tree that is the world’s tallest bushfire- lookout tree. This Eucalyptus Diversicolour Karri tree only grows in the south west of australia and is the third tallest species of tree in the world. At 61 meters (201 feet) it is a daunting climb to the top with only small round metal pegs to hold and step onto and no cage to stop your fall should you get vertigo while ascending. A little scary if you are nervous and your hands get a bit clammy and slippery but worth it once at the top and able to see the amazing panoramic view before you! / / According to Wikipedia, “Only 20 percent of visitors climb to the top of the tree; most make it only part of the way before turning back”. I’m proud to say I’m one of the 20%!

Roaming around, as I always tend to do with my camera, I found a beautiful Tulip Poplar Tree. Filled with blooms, it was just lovely! This photograph was shot with a Canon 40D in West Chester, Pennsylvania. /

Don’t get near this tree, because it just may swoop you up and carry you off to the Wicked Witch of the West! Inspired by three women on RB, this picture is dedicated to them. First and foremost, Debbie Sanders inspired me with her awesome picture of an inscribed heart with initials in a tree. The heart was ten feet up the trunk. When I commented on it, I said that it must be a very old tree. She quipped back, “Don’t you know how old it is?” When I went back to look more carefully at the picture, I saw something that I hadn’t seen at first. Sometimes our eyes are drawn to the most prominent point in a picture and we miss the less prominent features, which I had done. Danged if on my second look I saw that there was an impression of two hinges and and a vertical line connecting them. This tree had once been used as an old fence post! How cool is that? In the past week, ,Rosemaree put up some incredible photographs of a gnarly old tree that resembled a grumpy old man. As I viewed this, I was laughing like crazy, because these pictures are so danged funny. My two friends now inspired me to look more closely at trees. While I am here visiting my family in Pennsylvania, their neighbor, Burt, offered me his house to stay in while he vacations in Maine, which was so sweet of him. I took him up on it and have been enjoying his open aired back porch. My parent’s have a canopy on their back porch, so it is hard to take photographs from. As I was sitting on Burt’s porch I started looking at this old white pine tree. Sure enough, there was a knotty face with no smile! Laughing once again, I was amazed by this tree! Finally, Bunny put up an awesome picture of The Wizard of Oz’s Tinman standing in a field. Her art made me think of how this tree resembles those big, old, nasty trees from the movie! It’s my hope that you too, will view their wonderful work and be so inspired! Thanks my dear friends not only for the inspiration, but the laughter as well! Catch ya later – I’m now off to see the Wizard of Oz!! We’re Off to See the Wizard The moral of this story is that there are so many things that most people are preconditioned not to see. This is what I love about being a Photographer!!
West Palm Beach, FL, ‘08, pen on construction paper, all freestyle no pencil This tree can be found in the back yard of my aunt’s old house where she doesn’t live anymore. You may notice a hole in the ground at the bottom of the tree where the dog likes to dig and eat the roots. I’d like to give a shout out to Becky, Chris, Travis, Mark, CJ, Tabetha, Trez, Sol, Mary Beth, Evan, Eddie, Evan, Hunter, whoever else I forgot out there in Florida. I’m on the internet!
