  • Sure, the bird was interesting, but he really should have paid more attention to what was coming up behind him. Unfortunately for Willie “The Birdman” Whiters, it would be the last mistake he would ever make. I just finished this one up last night. Overall, I’m fairly pleased with it.

  • My fine feathered friends were out for there morning stroll on a misty morning. I captured this moment on one of my morning strolls through Oak Ridge Prairie. Oak Ridge Prairie, Lake County Northwest Indiana October of 2008. Copyright © Curtiss P Simpson

  • Acrylic & India ink art marker on canvas, 18×24 inches. This painting is actually a late stage extension of my childhood sexual abuse painting series. It symbolizes a quiet, nostalgic yearning for those lovely parts of my childhood that were either lost or at least, diminished, amidst the ugliness of the abuse. If interested, you can see the entire abuse series at http://www.gjefle-art.com/abuse/abuse-index.htm You can also see this paintings “sister” piece here on Redbubble. / / A somewhat significant difference between these two related paintings is the eye color. In the painting above, the eyes more closely match the desert sand. In “The Premonition Dreamt it was a Child”, the eyes are green – envious of the childhood it can’t really have. / ~

  • After a few miss timed shots, I was amazed at how straight forward photographing popping water balloons were. I only got wet once. Although I couldn’t see them, I could hear my neighbours laughing when I spent 30 minutes jumping up and down to get the right body and clothing shape. The rest is lots of fiddling in photoshop. I hope you like it. Greeting Cards / Framed Print / All shots were taken with a Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 57mm, f/16, 1/125 sec, ISO 100. No filters used. Studio Lights set to 1/32.
