  • A digitaly manipulated photo to appear as a painting. The mountain stream helps substain life both below and above the surface.A stream’s ecosystem includes the area immediately around the stream—the damp banks and vegetation on both sides, the trees that hang over it, the air above it. And it includes the stream’s entire watershed as well.We should do what we can to help preserve these beautiful wonders of nature before much of its flora and fauna are gone.

  • Mooney Falls is a waterfall on Havasu Creek, in the northwest corner of the U.S. state of Arizona, near the town of Supai in the Havasupai Indian Reservation. It is named after prospector D. W. “James” Mooney who fell to his death trying to cross the canyon on a homemade ladder. Local Native Americans called it “Hualapai” or “Hualpai” falls. It is located about 1 kilometre downstream (i.e. to the north) of Havasu Falls, just past the large campground that lies between the two falls. Mooney Falls is accessible with considerable difficulty down a very steep trail (including two rock tunnels) that has been cut into the rock. Chains and a ladder at the bottom assist, but spray from the falls coats the dust-covered rock with water and reddish mud that makes climbing treacherous.

  • This is one of several photos I took of Pikes Peak mountain, the mountain that inspired Katherine Lee Bates to write “America the Beautiful”, taken from my home town of Colorado Springs, Colorado. This has always been my favorite mountain, over 14,000 feet above sea level, to hike. Image taken from Garden of the Gods park.

  • This is a collection of several photos I took of Pikes Peak Mountain, the mountain that inspired Katherine Lee Bates to write “America the Beautiful”, and the surrounding Colorado Springs region. Pikes Peak has always been my favorite mountain, over 14,000 feet above sea level, to hike year round. Most of the images were taken from Garden of the Gods park in the Springs, along with one of Helen Hunt Falls in Cheyenne Canyon added.

  • Ballyshannon Estury Sunset, by Cat-Art. / © Cat-Art. Ballyshannon, which means “The Mouth of Seannach’s Ford”, after a fifth century warrior Seannach, who was slain here, lies at the mouth of the river Erne. Just west of the town the Erne widens and its waters meander over a long sandy estuary. The northern bank of the river rises steeply away from the riverbank, while the southern bank is flat with a small cliff that runs parallel to the river. From its idyllic setting the town looks out over the estuary and has panoramic views of mountains, lakes and forests.

  • Kissing Camels red rock sandstone, sitting at the foot of the magnificent Pikes Peak mountain. In my gallary is the original of this scene, prior to adding Fractalius. Unfortunately, I can not figure out how to add the link directly. Maybe someone can assist?

  • Fractal photography art pictures of the foothills of Colorado Springs, CO area, from different views of Pikes Peak mountain, and Garden of the Gods park including Balancing Rock, Siamese Twins, and Kissing Camels red rock sandstone, to the hidden waterfall of Helen Hunt Falls in Cheyenne Canyon close to the famous Seven Falls.

  • Taken this year when the falls had extremely high levels of water coming over. This is a tiny section of the whole falls. Taken with my Canon 400D on a tripod. These falls are situated between Boat Harbour and Stanley off the main road by about 23km. The parking area is right at the falls, however to get to the bottom, there is a very long set of steps, fine going down, rather different coming up, however the track and steps are well constructed with good handrails, though steep.
