Sydney has many attractions but, I’m sure, the two most well known are the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Quite a few years back now, I got up very early one morning, braved the cold, setup the camera and took this image. I really like the glow from the light just before the sun came up. Scan from Fujichrome. Have sold as a laminated print to someone on RB. Thank you whoever purchased !

Garden Of the Gods Park, outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is without a doubt one of my all time favorite places to shoot at….the light there just dances, especially during the golden hours just after sunrise…..Pike’s Peak is in the background, with the wind blowing the snow into the sky. / Thoughts welcomed! This was pure fun, there was this whole group of women and one “beautifull’ man, i really wanted to take his shot and they where asking me ‘why you want photo from that man”, well i said because he is ‘beautifull’ they thought that was sooo funny..they wanted on the photo ,forget about him, take us! so i did offcourse and that attracted more people…finally i made a shot of the ‘beautifull’ man too.. but that was at least an hour later!! I used to go to a disco in this street many moons ago. I wondered whether it was through that doorway and downstairs to the basement. I remember seeing Stevie Wright’s band play there. Maybe someone could enlighten me on where it was. The street has changed so much over the years but was always interesting. I remember a great cake shop with Viennese style cakes and a place that I could buy vegetarian food-that was in the late sixties-for those who remember. ha ha ha! Later CAE art classes with Mirka Mora when I took my son to ‘cause he didn’t want to go to school that day. I’m sure he learned more there that day than he would have at school. My mother and grandmother (and I suppose great-grandmother) always had a love of the little lanes and streets of Melbourne and we would always walk up Degraves street and cross Flinders Lane meander through Block Arcade on our way to the ‘must see’ Royal Arcade to look at Gog and Magog with the clock. Then off the gallery that used to be housed along with the museum in the State Library of Victoria building. Yesterday to continue that tradition I took my grandaughter through these streets and then we went to the galleries at Fed Square and then St Kilda road. At 3 and a half – she loved those places as I’ve no doubt that Melbourne is singing in her blood. The family has been here since 1856! Looks like we are here to stay!!!

Saint Mary Lake, Glacier National Park, Montana, USA. Where else would you want to be on a morning like this ? The Elk were bugling across the Lake, it was warm, the air was very still, reflections all around me, gorgeous mountains everywhere…......... / felt like I was in heaven !! / All I had to do was get down a very steep bank on the lakeside – then get back up, Help !! / Magic ! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, mounted on tripod, polarising filter attached, f22, 1/15 sec, iso 100, auto wb, shot at 50mm on my 18-55mm lens, RAW file processed in Adobe Camera RAW, then CS3 with tweaks in levels/curves and selective colour.
